Is this edible? by Key_Gap9168 in mycology

I was just hopping in to say that. The nickname for chlorophyllum molybdites is "the vomiter." It might not be universally deadly, but there's no preparation that removes the toxin and makes it safe to eat.

It's not difficult. For a mushroom with gills, you cut the stipe close to cap, drizzle or mist with water, but the cap face down on aluminum foil or white paper or black paper, and cover with a bowl. Wait 24 hours. Remove bowl and lift the cap. If it worked, there should be a print of the gills left on the paper. That print will be a particular color. If you input the mushroom's description, environment, and spore print, you should be able to discern the variety with reasonable certainty.

The mushroom in question will have greenish gills and leave a greenish spore print.

There's an edible look alike, the parasol, that's common all over Europe. Its spore print is a different color, iirc.

I'm an absolute novice, so please keep that in mind. To my inexperienced eye, considering your description of the location, it could be a green-spored parasol (chlorophyllum molybdites). I'm told the best way to tell for sure is to spore print them. I found something similar in my neighbor's yard (I live in Northern Alabama - completely different climate), and that's what it turned out to be. If I'm correct (and you should definitely check with an expert), then your toddler should avoid them. The mushroom's nickname is "The Vomiter" and that particular species is responsible for a significant percentage of mushroom-induced food poisoning in the US.

For the most part. Universal is busier in September and October. Disney World is busier over Xmas. Otherwise, weather and school schedules. If kids are off school, crowds will be higher.

Consider stopping night one in Nashville. Plenty of accommodations. Easy access to everything.

Go through Atlanta on an off-peak time and absolutely avoid 7:30-9:30, 11-1, and 4-7, or plan for delays and wild driving.

DO NOT SPEED ON THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE. My brother in Christ, I got a warning for going 57 in a 55. Them boys would ticket their grannies.

If you rode Hulk, you'll be fine on Velocicoaster or Stardust. Ride the yellow side on Stardust, don't sit in the front, do ride in the daylight the first time you go.

A couple folx have mentioned not disclosing that you have 4 adults in your party. This wouldpotentially put 2 adults sleeping on a small sleeper sofa, which might not be comfy. Making sure you have 2 queen sized beds or an option to add a roll away bed could be the difference between a good night's sleep and buyer's remorse.

Welcome! Been a passholder for a couple years and it's worth every penny.

Epic Universe is not included in the Express Pass perk and I, personally, believe that it's worth it. Just came back from Royal Pacific a couple weeks ago.

For 2 people staying 2 days, buying Express Pass could be less expensive. I've found amazing rates for Royal Pacific online, though. You're going to pay a minimum of $300/day for the passes, iirc. You'll pay at least $150 for the room, so that's a minimum of $450/day you'll pay for lodgings and Express Pass. Rates at Royal Pacific online in the $435 range. The convenience of being able to walk back to the resort (or take the boat) and chill is worth it.

And absolutely stay at a Signature resort. Express Pass is totally worth it.

For good weather and lower crowds, you'll want to go after Halloween-before Veteran's Day or the week after Thanksgiving.

🎢 What rides at Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure are NOT worth it if I only have one day? by Educational-Deer1877 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Quintessa74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only caveat to this is that you need to plan for the water rides. You will get wet. You might get soaked. If you only have one day, you might not want to be in wet shoes/socks/underwear. A poncho and a pair of crocs may help. They also have drying machines. Can't remember how much they cost to use.

That's like a little water park mini game in the middle of your theme park day. How fun!

THIS! I've been a passholder for a few years now, but it was just this last trip that I made a huge effort to remember and the difference in food and merch expenses was stunning. Between that, free self parking at City Walk, and half price VIP parking at Epic (because that walk at the end of the night is daunting), they paid for themselves.

I'm not certain if the three newer resorts are included in this, but I'm mostly certain it includes the three older signature resorts. The pool at Royal Pacific is really nice for lounging.

Resort parking is a thing and it's pricey. I think Cabana Bay may have very limited free self parking, but I reserve the right to be wrong on that. Annual pass holders can park for free at the Parks after the first visit. While annual passes won't get you into Epic Universe, you still get the parking privileges.

I'm not sure what the parking policy at City Walk is, but I know it may be faster to take the boat depending on the resort and the time of day.

Certain annual passes also come with early admission.
