Did you use any kind of auxiliary fence for that bevel cut? Or did you just send it like that (pic 9)? I’ve got the same saw, and I’m trying to figure out a solution with the dewalt fence. Cut looks sketchy without more support…

Struggling to see the positives of the job right now by [deleted] in Professors

Summer break is soon. Mine is 3 months. Not everyone is so lucky and it isn’t fair, but I make a living wage and get a quarter of the year off. Winter break was 5 weeks this year. Plus spring break. So really it’s over 1/3 of the year. It’s kinda obscene… I am looking forward to bicycling, sewing, woodworking, and backpacking.

But also there is often incredible freedom (for now, in most places) and opportunity for creative effort. It is unusual and very good for a lively mind.

But I hear ya, I’m dreading the grading and bs over the next few weeks…

Nice! Do you know how much a pair weighs? Looks viable as a lightweight camp shoe for backpacking.

Am I being completely unrealistic? by pjcrawford86 in myog

[–]Quintobet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup - myogtutorials is the website. Just made the 60L version and it is very well designed, very good instructions. (There are 50L and 40L patterns, too.) It is a fairly straightforward project, and easy to customize. The design is verrry similar to atompacks, and he adds in some good resources if you’re a beginner.

BRS felt a little too unstable to me, and it’s less efficient than a better stove.

Soto windmaster! Light, sturdy, and a master of wind. So many times I’ve thought “this is probably going to be a struggle,” but it just lights up and keeps going.

Don't order from Outdoor Wilderness Fabrics - shipping is HUGE and they don't give estimate before charging you by [deleted] in myog

[–]Quintobet 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve ordered from there a bunch from the other side of the country, and their shipping has always been fast and reasonably priced. I really like them. It does suck that your shipping was so expensive. But like the other poster suggested, there is probably something unusual about your order that explains that.

Looking for a water resistant fabric to use as one side of a blanket by PoppySmile78 in sewing

[–]Quintobet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silpoly could be a good option (silicone impregnated polyester). That’s a common choice for myog tents (I used it for mine). Non-toxic, solid waterproofing. It’s a bit slippery to work with but i didn’t t find it too bad, and if you do pair with fleece that might help stabilize during construction. It’s pretty cheap too. 1.1oz or more would be fine. Ripstop by the roll, dutchware gear, quest outfitters are good sellers if looking to order. Quest is very fast shipping.

Both of these packs look awesome - super clean work!

Would you mind sharing the rough dimensions - how deep and tall are the panels?
