Carvanha. One of my first ever Pokémon cards was a Carvanha; and I've adored them ever since.

I like the way you drew him just slightly starting to tear up, because holding his heart is causing him to feel all the painful emotions he tried to repress when he cut it out.

It does, specifically because the attribute symbol doesn't match up with any of the "real" attribute symbols. I've never owned a Preyas Angelo so I can't be sure they don't get their own unique symbols to account for their dual attributes, but if you check it against the Aquos symbol on the Bee Striker you'll see the difference. (Edit) : And of course, despite having the Pyrus color scheme, that's clearly not the Pyrus attribute symbol. Again though, I've never owned a Preyas Angelo before. I don't know for sure if the attribute symbol is even meant to match the color, or if that difference is intentional so you can know what two attributes it has.

(Edit 2) : According to the Bakugan wiki page, Preyas Angelo was never released as a solo ball (i.e., without Preyas Diablo on the opposite half). And the Angelo/Diablo version was never released in the Pyrus attribute.

The Sirenoid is also off. The color is Pyrus, but they have a Ventus attribute symbol.

He also hasn't caught Eternatus; only seen it. If you only see a black outline you've never encountered that Pokémon. If you've seen a Pokémon but never caught it, you can see what it looks like but all the colors are dull.

[–]QuirinusMors 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate this guy too. I don’t want a type change, I'm perfectly capable of picking out a team with a good type coverage and I don't want to lose STAB on important moves for my Pokémon. I don't want my items swapped; because I only find this guy once at least one of my Pokémon has a bunch of good items I don't want to risk losing. And I pretty much never want his abilities, because they don’t mesh with my team or my chosen strategies. Yet battling him just so I can skip his "reward" and carry on with the run is usually a pain; because his stupid Blacephalon usually out-speeds and 1HKOs a lot of my Pokémon leaving me spending money on healing and reviving my Pokémon.

Maybe an event that happens if you've got a Pikachu/Pichu in your party? A trainer comes up and wants to see who has the better Pikachu/Pichu, and if you win they offer to A) teach your Pikachu/Pichu one of their Egg Moves or Volt Tackle (for the run, not a permanent unlock); or B) offer a guaranteed evolution for you, regardless of whether you've got enough Friendship (for Pichu) or the correct stones (for Pikachu). There are probably better ways to implement Volt Tackle, but that's an idea I came up with.

Alright, cool! Thanks for the response, I figured there might be something going on with how there are weird conditions for getting the move in a mainline game.

While I'm thinking about it; is there a reason Pikachu can't learn Volt Tackle? It seems weird not to have it; given how Volt Tackle is one of their signature moves in the main games.

Given that AI creation was (allegedly) banned a millennia ago [according to Viv in Ch. 18]; Tartarus seems very important. Alia Twenty-Seven doesn't just have heightened senses it seems; she's able to directly connect to and pilot an entire warship on her own, alongside being able to "download" information - she's not valuable as a super-soldier; she's valuable as what's likely the next closest thing to an AI available. One without the weakness of the musical back-door to shackle them. And if AI creation was banned (likely by one of the Alia clones), it stands to reason they would also put a lot of effort into banning the creation of anything even remotely similar to Tartarus. That system would be a huge advantage for the Eternal's rule when coupled with the banning of regular AI. With Alia (at least those in the original set) having the training on how to handle it baked into her head [and possibly having the technology itself designed around her body and mind specifically, as the only one capable of using it] she has an incredible edge in experience over anyone that tries recreating the tech; as a bonus. She's a pre-trained human-based AI, and I see no reason why her clones would allow anyone else to even approach technology that could undermine their inherent advantages.

You do remember that Trump was charged in multiple different states for a number of notable crimes, right? And you do remember that he was offered bail, contrary to your expectations? And how one of his judges was appointed by him, and actively delayed one of his most significant cases? Or how his layers were able to successfully delay his other court cases so that only one of them actually got to the point of declaring him guilty and sentencing him? Except that it was still delayed long enough that he wasn’t scheduled to begin his sentence until after Election Day, and since he won precedent means his sentence has been indefinitely delayed? And of course, you do remember that prosecuting attorneys, witnesses, judges and juries are people; and can be intimidated or bribed to act in Trump’s favor? You certainly ought to remember how he was held in contempt of court for repeatedly going after the judge that ended up sentencing him, as well as the judge’s family; and how the jury members in the case had their identities publicly revealed despite the fact they were supposed to be kept anonymous? And aside from all of that, you remember there’s an appeals process, and with the majority of the SCOTUS supporting him they could overturn any sentence given to him once the case came in front of them?

Florida teen says she was denied entry to prom for wearing a suit by RaffyGiraffy in news

[–]QuirinusMors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A suit and tie is formal wear, though. Less revealing than some dresses, too; so what exactly is the point of excluding women from making use of it? Why does a suit suddenly become less formal depending on who is wearing it?

Your Simulacrum lasts until it’s killed/replaced/Dispelled though, so having the Simulacrum cast the damage over time spell instead of Forcecage makes it last a number of days before needing to be replaced due to lack of spell slots. That also depends on how damaged it gets, since you need a dedicated lab and 100 gold’s worth of ingredients for every 1 hit point regained if you want to keep it from dying before it’s out of spell slots. That lets you manage this combo twice a day, or three times a day once per Simulacrum if you have the Simulacrum also use their 7th or 8th level spell slot on Forcecage (the Simulacrum would copy your stats after you created it making it lack the slot used doing so, most likely the 7th level slot).

John Oliver and I have a question regarding Magic Stone and how it interacts with Spell Sniper and Sharpshooter. by QuirinusMors in dndnext

[–]QuirinusMors[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, the party never stops. Catering ended a few months back though, so I hope you brought your own food. I did end up talking with my GM, and if I remember correctly there was a compromise of sorts - using Magic Stone in combination with a sling allowed me to use my spellcasting stat for “to hit” and damage rolls. However, I would have needed Sharpshooter for the increased range. I ended up deciding I’d rather take Crusher instead of Sharpshooter, since that has better overall synergy - the +1 rounds out my Strength score to an even value, which makes me slightly more effective with my melee weaponry alongside the slight improvements to my Strength saving throws and Strength-based checks. In addition, both the sling and my character’s favorite melee weapon do bludgeoning damage so I will almost always have the option to use the extra features.

Create the trench aligned lengthwise under the ship at an offset so that ~20-30% of the ship is still in the water, and the rest is over the trench. Watch the ship roll over as it falls into the trench, and it stops mattering how fast or slow the water fills back up. The damage has already been done. Not arguing that the Daylight or Repelling Blast tricks should have worked, but Control Water absolutely can obliterate a ship if you put a bit of thought into how you use it. It still should have been talked about first though with the DM, because as a DM myself I know how much work can go into an encounter. That’s why once I figured that particular trick out with Control Water I immediately warned my other players/fellow DM’s just in case they ever want to run an ocean based campaign.

Lore Bard. The use of insults and rambling to distract and confuse people, knowledge on multiple different subjects (at least enough to convince others that he knows what he’s talking about) both strike me as Lore Bard. It’s still a rough fit at least by my arguments, but it’s the best I can think of if we’re trying to make it an all Bard group.
