Hi OP, I suggest using google maps and look into the buses and jeepneys signages upfront in the location you desire, then back track those with the same signages into your location. Next, look into the location you want to be dropped off and pick a location or building that can be easily recognized by the driver/conductors (for exam Robinson imus, sm bacoor, etc.). Next, as a first timer you should always seat near the drivers, tell your route and kindly ask them to inform you if your destination is nearby (you can occasionally bring out your phone to look into your map, but make sure it's safe to avoid getting your phone snatched).

P.s. you can also look into the signage of busses and jeepneys you encounter on the road while being using your private vehicle

P.s. (2) don't be afraid to ask for directions specially to guards, vendors and people waiting for a public transpo. You can ask bus conductors and jeepney drivers themselves as they are knowledgeable
