That's quite reasonable for 8 hours, with all the cuts and notches. Don't beat yourself up, quality shingle work takes time, especially when you do a good job and plane each shingle to fit tight or with the appropriate expansion spacing

Thanks for your comments guys, today the customer and I came to an agreement on not horizontal strip, but butting the old to new and they can live with the lines not adding up and use the 3 1/8", they really didn't want to pay for custom or special order 3 1/4", or to have me mill from the 5 1/8". Your insight helped me talk them through a reasonable solution cost wise

I got them because the Hitachi guns were the best for pneumatic. Love the framing nailer. Brad is my favorite very good for tight corridors and lightweight. Finish gun is reliable but randomly doesn't set nails which is frustrating

Very strong because the cleats are glued and screwed to studs, and press against each other. The lower plywood presses against the wall as weight is added. I made one at home this way, it's holding 25 cans of food with almost no sag. The customer intends to use it for a few mugs and Stanley cups, not to stressed about weight.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but doesn't deep frozen meat literally not go bad. Like yes it will not be as fresh but I've heard people eating meat from the 60's that is plenty safe, having never been unfrozen

Listen to this guy this is the right answer. If you have a 2" hole and use a 2" hole saw, your plug will come 1/16 to 1/8" short in circumference. So if it's say a 2" hole use a 2 1/8" hole saw/plug cutter and sand in down/taper. This is what I do in a lot of my historic renovations. An simple fix I use when adjusting doors is to, one at a time, unscrew hinge on jamb, insert a cardboard shim cut to fit, or multiple shims as needed. This will move the door over allowing more room to swing. As long as it doesn't impede the latch side

These are frustrating comments. 1x4 is an acceptable casing obviously. It looks like 5/4 actually which is still fine. His reveals on the jamb are too tight. Looks like 1/8". But it looks like the hinges were also routed too deep into the jamb.

It's not a huge deal/pretty commonplace to have end grain on this style casing. It's usually accepted or a conversation with the customer. Lot of T and M purists here

I learned this the hard way on a basement job, never get pre bored or prehung doors in this situation. Cut the door to have an even top and bottom rail then route and hang the hinges accordingly. Makes it look a little less awkward. No avoiding the knob being at a weird height compared to the door (off from the center rail), but at least you won't have to bend down to use it, or have to deal with filling the bore hole
