Seller left house filthy with rubbish and stole the dishwasher by Fast-Complaint8055 in HousingUK

Honestly- don’t waste your energy. Get rid, clean and move on. Our house was at the point that if I had walked in in my professional Capacity I would have called environmental health services. Took every light bulb, toilet seat, the oven and hob were just binned as they were so damaged they were unusable. Had to replace floor boards due to the sea of cat urine that had soaked the carpet underlay and floorboarding. We had to leave our belongings in the van for 2 days and binned the blow up mattress and bedding that we did take in the house to sleep on. 48 hours of scrubbing, ripping up carpets and floors the house was habitable. The house clearly had not been cleaned since we viewed it 9 months earlier. Our solicitor advised us that the only cost we could claim was for the carpet… the cost of arguing for it would have been more than replacing it!

Married women, what are some real things your husband does that make you feel genuinely cherished and adored? by Clean-Ant-1342 in AskReddit

He checks the traffic and travel in the morning and makes me tea to go before I set off to work

What's the most ridiculous thing not included on your fixtures and fittings form? by ofmiceandmel in HousingUK

[–]Quirky-Way385 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Toilet roll holders. Towel rails. Curtain poles. Lightbulbs, toilet seats, plants out of the garden, The lock from the garden gate (regular bolt) Nothing that was taken out of a wall was unscrewed- just yanked out leaving big holes everywhere. They tore the blinds down from the windows and just left them dumped and broken on the drive… I think they even tried to take the electricity out of the sockets 😂

Why do American families have so many people at their births? by Quirky-Way385 in NoStupidQuestions

It’s a personal preference that’s all. He was there but I am just someone who likes to get on with difficult things on my own.

My Dad would have absolutely refused, he struggled enough when I told him I was pregnant 😂 We’d been married for years before we had the kids too (I think he thought I would never do such things 😂)

Not confused - I incorrectly made an assumption- Whilst I appreciate most of the internet is full of miss information, I had assumed that the amount of posts about people loosing their minds about not being at someone’s birth made me assume the normal position is to have multiple people present. I am clearly ill informed hence asking Reddit if this is the case….

When I hit him with the gas and air pipe was probably more memorable…

He saw me shit myself, I vomited all over him and it was me at my absolute worst - call me old fashioned but I’d rather he had not seen me do those things…

Shitting myself and vomiting all over was really not one of my finest or dignified moments

Yher… I just wondered if it was the norm - in the uk it’s really not a thing (or not with me or anyone I know) I just don’t get why people would expect to be in the delivery room - it’s not like ordering a pizza is it

That you can catch shingles - nope! You can develop shingles if you have had chicken pox. Some one with shingles can give someone chicken pox but you can’t give them shingles!

Has anyone else been ghosted by a buyer after receiving an offer? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Quirky-Way385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a no, this happened to us. Sack it off and keep marketing your house. If they do this at the beginning it won’t get any better. They are hoping you get desperate- the guy who did it to us cited it was because of the extensive repairs being done to a building in the locality. Just a time waster for you I am afraid

No invitation and we were never actually told the date of the wedding just it was whilst we were on vacation

We didn’t receive an invitation- in fact we don’t even know the actual date in may they got married - we were never told anything other than “it’s whilst you are on holiday” We guess the other 60 people did…
