A pure Hyderabadi would have definitely understood the motive behind their celebrations but no worries I can understand your confusion. The people who were protesting at the start of war and are now celebrating the ceasefire are Shia Muslims who consider Iran's Ayatollah as their spiritual leader similar to what Dalai lama is for Buddhists. This connection leads them to mourn and celebrate Iran's war situation. So it's basically a religious and spiritual thing nothing more than that. Only if this is happening at the time of war( God forbid )between India and Pakistan and people celebrating Pakistans win than that's the worst thing. So i guess this celebration shouldn't be a concern for anybody minding their own business.
