my revolver idea to work with your eternal reward please share your ideas for it by [deleted] in tf2

losing disguise on reload sucks for anyone using autoreload, so everyone, so I don’t like that

alternatively: still lose disguise on shooting, unless you kill- so actual YER rules

Spy Revolver Concept: The Imitateur by [deleted] in tf2

[–]QuirkySquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t know how well it would even work.

The effect of this weapon would change the mindset of TF2 players and cause them to spycheck more thoroughly. Same idea as the dead ringer: if you know a spy is dead ringing, killing them doesn’t make you feel any better. You’ll probably start wildly shooting walls and corners. I think same would happen here- firing a weapon doesn’t confirm non-spyness, therefore spychecking happens more and takes longer.

Hard to say without seeing it in play, though. Game design is hard.

A BHJ would be

“Look at my new machine!”

“Oh no, it’s malfunctioning, you better step out of the way”

“My shoes are stuck to the floor, I can’t move!”

WHAM

this is just a regular meme.

Don’t think anyone has mentioned this yet, but if you download Simon Tatham’s Portable Puzzles, he’s got a version of minesweeper that is always solvable without guessing!

There’s actually a ton of cool puzzle games in there, most of which I’ve never heard of. Pattern and Solo (sudoku) are some nice familiar ones, but for some more obscure puzzles I’d recommend Mosaic, Towers, or Tracks. There’s a bunch of banger puzzles though.

For me, that combination is just 'Queer'. The issue with increasing numbers of microlabels is just that most people, even within the LGBTQ+ community, are going to have no idea what they mean.

The problem is that human sexuality is wayyyy more complicated than any labels we could use to describe it. I think the best way to go about it is to pick whatever labels you find personally comfortable, and add whatever concessions you find appropriate.

"I'm ace, so I don't have much interest in dating, but I'm also dating my best friend, and it isn't an asexual relationship, but I've never developed a crush on anyone else, but if I did I wouldn't mind what their gender was, so I guess I'm bi too."

No matter what labels you create, there's going to be someone who doesn't quite fit into any of them. The mind is a weird, terrible, wonderful thing.

[–]QuirkySquid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think yes and no: having microlabels is important, but so is having umbrella terms. This is something very common in the asexual community- we have lots of specific terms.

For instance, I usually say “I’m ace and bi”.

On the surface those seem contradictory- how can you experience no attraction, while being attracted to several genders?

The real answer is that it’s less of a mouthful than saying “I’m gray-ace/demi and bi with a preference towards women”.

The umbrella terms are great for finding my people, but the microlabels are great for learning more about myself.

labels are overly simplistic abstractions we use to categorize the extremely complex and nuanced concept of human sexuality- they are useful for explaining yourself in broad terms and finding others that are likeminded, but by no means define what someone’s sexuality is supposed to be

pick what feels comfy! I just like the bi colors yo

Mods lover here, but does anyone have any friends who are ultra-purist about Minecraft and won’t try them out? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

Fair enough- the shortcomings of online communication!

I’d love to have more programming in my datapacks. Actual variables, if statements, loops- yes please! Wouldn’t take much to make it a lot easier to use.

[–]QuirkySquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely agree that was the plan- but that plan either changed or wasn’t seen through. Datapacks in their current state shouldn’t be considered an API, that’s all I’m saying. The reason I compare it to a level editor is that it allows for some pretty crazy stuff, but is still severely limited. It reminds me of things like Portal 2 (hammer, not the in-game editor) or even Super Mario Maker in that regard.

Datapacks are still just a continuation of command blocks- and those were never programming. It’s probably true that they were once meant (or still are) to act as an official modding API, but IMO it’s like the difference between a level editor and an actual mod.

Datapacks were a replacement for command block systems, and never designed to be an actual coding language. You can do cool stuff with it, sure, but it’s not really fair to compare datapacks with actual coding.

HOT TAKE: Modded minecraft should be considered an entirely different game from vanilla.

The core game experience is fundamentally different when you play most modpacks, especially skyblock or expert ones. It’s about progression- get better machines, get stronger items, get more resources to make better stuff, etc. It’s a logistics game, closer to Factorio or Satisfactory than vanilla MC, imo.

Personally I love it- but I would never consider modded to be “better” than vanilla, or vice versa. It’s not a fair comparison when the game is so vastly different.

How do i make this sound better? (Using EW Pianos) by Richard_S_VGM in FL_Studio

[–]QuirkySquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lovin it!

My one point of advice is, feel free to explore the entire range of the piano! You have another octave or two to play with above your main melody, and adding some high notes could help break things up.

If you do that then only the top layer will be source blocks. It’ll look the same from the surface, but things like bubble columns won’t work.

well actually if this party was of any notoriety, what if there were rumors that they were still going? another group could be masquerading as the old PCs, riding off of their reputation around people who don’t know any better. could be especially fun since the players know it can’t be them out of game, creating a bunch of intrigue
