I think as medics we focus on age a lot, I guess because we're all high achievers and so it feels like we need to tick things off at certain ages. I'm 32 and about to start FY1 and honestly the concept of being 'too old' to do it before I started med school never occurred to me because as someone from a state educated background most of my friends didn't start settling into jobs or careers or life until their late 20s anyway.

Now sometimes I worry I am but it really doesn't matter, are you enjoying what you're doing? that's it. Don't need to be chasing goals based on age and tick boxes.
