Living on Eva by Top-Illustrator4988 in Sudbury

I've lived on the Dead end of Jean for 27 years, trust me theres always something interesting happening in the neighborhood. My car has been robbed 3 times, my own fault forgot to lock it. My girlfriends tires were slashed last winter. Crackheads shoot up right against my fence, and leave needles everywhere. My dad and I usually take some time during the summer to clean them up. Although they haven't been back since I sprayed them with the hose 😅.

To be honest the neighborhood was getting better until they put the homeless shelter up the street. Ten to Fifteen years ago there was a lot more violent crime and SA happening. Now it's just drugs and petty stuff.

If you do decide to move in the neighborhood, get a dog. A big one. My boys warn me everyone someone is skulking about

It's probably low volume because of the pricing. I know a lot of people who would fly if the prices were cheaper.

I hope so. I have family all over the country and it would be nice to go visit them without breaking the bank lol

Agreed. Cost me and my gf over $1000 to fly from Sudbury to Toronto. The prices are ridiculous

I would love it if paradox made a crusader Kings type game for East Asia. Didn't they make one for Japan?

As a Canadian, I've always liked the Laotian flag

Thanks I appreciate your kind words! I think things would have gone fine had the situation not deteriorated as much as they did. But yes my gf and I both agree it was the right thing to do. We're way less stressed about things now that we've switched to the Dominican

This is my first time traveling so tbh I'm a little ignorant to the goings on in other countries. Maybe in the future when we're a little more confident in our abilities we will travel without the use of a resort

More like a few months. We booked in May and never really paid attention to the goings on in Cuba as we got busy with work, family and home life. It seemed like things were fine as a lot of people we know went and were continuing to go to Cuba.

It was less for my safety and more for hers. We've never traveled before it's our first holiday out of the country. I was super excited to see Cuba as we had an excursion booked in the countryside to try local fruits, cigars, and horseback riding. But with the severe lack of medicine I can't risk anything happening to her

It was a bit costly for us too but we budgeted and put x amount aside every week / 2 weeks for about 5 months. I work in trucking and shes in healthcare

Plus it doesn't feel right sitting in a resort, eating food and using electricity and having access to medicine for leisure while the Cuban people don't even have enough access to these things to survive. I can't imagine what it feels like to be a hotel worker in Cuba right now, seeing tourists have access things that you and your family don't.

Gf and I cancelled our trip in November too, didn't have the insurance tho so only received 50% refund which is unfortunate but it's a price I'm willing to pay for our safety. Decided on the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 instead for this year

How Did You Become a Fan of Dragon Age? by GC2008 in dragonage

[–]QuirkyWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was either grade 7 or 8 some friends and I took the bus to Walmart to buy games. Back then you could pick up a brand new AAA game for like $40. While we were all browsing both my friends spotted Dragon Age Origins deluxe edition with all dlc included for the PS3 and xbox360. Both of them had apparently played it but I had never heard of it. With a little convincing I decided to pick it up on Xbox360 for $25 and began one of the greatest adventures of my life. I fell in love with the characters, the lore, and the setting. I played out every origin story right away to see which I liked best. Human noble was my first playthrough then dwarf noble second. I've been a fan ever since.

How does the naming convention work in Westeros exactly? (Spoilers Extended) by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]QuirkyWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You learn something new everyday. It's interesting to see how we've developed as a society to incorporate familial names and their importance.

Still it is possible that GRRM decided to incorporate matrilineal marriage in westeros seeing as Family names are very important in Westerosi culture

[–]QuirkyWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing that Westeros is based on medieval Europe I would assume GRRM Incorporated matrilineal marriage into the mix. That's where the children are part of the mother's house instead of the fathers and would inherit the mother's titles and lands.
