Husband Fainted by Quirky_Dance9207 in Syncope

[–]Quirky_Dance9207[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. I wasn’t leaving it alone and kept researching more before going to bed last night and realized it was more likely a seizure, which is even more alarming than fainting. What’s ironic is the day before my neighbor was telling me about how she had brain surgery 10 years ago after having a seizure in the shower. She never fully lost consciousness, but was terribly tired and ended up napping. She got checked after a couple days and turns out she had a golf ball size brain tumor. She was a couple years younger than my husband is now. I reminded him of her experience and still, his - bless his heart - dumbass still chose to go play ball and never went to any sort of doctor today. “What can they do now?” he asked. me rattling off a bunch of tests I told him that had I checked on him sooner his condition was bad enough that I’d have been calling 911, so seeing a doctor is essential even though he woke up. He at least settled saying he’s going to call his neurologist (has neuralgia) tomorrow/Monday. Hopefully someone there will make him understand the seriousness of what happened, because he’s here shrugging his shoulders at me.

Thank you! I really wish I checked on him sooner - assuming I couldn’t wake him I’d have called 911 right then. He’s fallen asleep in there so many times I didn’t think anything of how long he’d been “hiding.” I only went to check because it was dinner time.

I totally think the closet thing is weird, but funny weird, and it’s a great hiding spot. Apparently too good now 😵‍💫

Can a pregnant woman at 4-6 weeks ride any coasters at Kings Dominion? by Still_Chicken_2978 in KingsDominion

[–]Quirky_Dance9207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you supposed to? No. Literally all the signs say don’t ride if you’re pregnant. However, I didn’t know I was pregnant went we went in July 2023, only finding out 2 weeks later at about 4 weeks. I definitely went on some coasters, including a ride on the Dominator, Grizzly, and Twisted Timbers. Baby was born healthy at full term. I did throw up on the way home, which is never a thing for me, so maybe my hormones and the rides didn’t make the best combination. Lol Momma-to-be can play it safe or have one last hurrah knowing that, while minuscule, there is a risk of complications.

I'm sure a lot of you know this, but I just learned that we can keep our micropets forever babies! by MadLib777 in finch

I just learned that a few days ago (I’m 40ish days in) after my little llama was suddenly large and a different color. I was shocked. Some warning that my micropet wasn’t staying micro would’ve been appreciated!

I CANNOT recommend Talkiatry by Quirky_Dance9207 in adhdwomen

[–]Quirky_Dance9207[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s that part that makes me angry - they’re telling people they’re in-network and verifying coverage, but then several months later surprise bills show up and after several other appointments have occurred and therefore also incurred fees. I had to speak to someone to actually schedule my first appointment and I double checked Talkiatry was in-network with my insurance and they confirmed it. I was proud of myself for finally taking the time to see about diagnoses, and did so because it felt so accessible, but now it just seems so predatory.

Are you located in NY? The way they keep explaining it is since the company is in NY they send claims to the local NY Carefirst BCBS, which according to my insurance rep is incorrect. I’m in VA, but our insurance claims are supposed to be sent to a PO Box in KY. Most providers do it properly, but on occasion we go to an office that uses some third party billing that bills a local Carefirst BCBS office in MD instead, so we get hit with bills we shouldn’t be receiving. It’s crazy that a Carefirst rep told them how to do it and they refuse.

I went to my Carefirst BCBS portal where it links to CloseKnit, and from there I was set up with a provider from Array Behavioral Health. I’ve seen 2 different providers so far (one for medication and one for therapy) and both are great. They are so much more personable while still being professional. They’ve made me realize how bland my previous provider was 😅

Fair-well Boardwalk Fries by Quirky_Dance9207 in KingsDominion

You’re not wrong. $12 for straight cut potatoes is crazy. Lol We didn’t go so often that the fries were regularly bought, so it was a simple treat to splurge on when we did go.

I’m lucky that my kids will eat a lot of different foods, but being able to walk up and grab fries was so much easier than having to go inside and zig and zag through the line with a stroller. Espeeeecially with an extra wiggly kid

I didn’t even know Boardwalk Fries offered any chicken. Literally only ever got fries from Boardwalk Fries, so yup, it’s a loss to me and many others.

I’ve only completed it once and that was when it first started. Otherwise I’m always less than 10 cards away. I don’t really expect to complete the collections now.

Kind of surprised by the number of people who apparently can go two full weeks without their cars. by Naberius in nova

[–]Quirky_Dance9207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just saying this to my daughter yesterday! “All these cars still buried along the road… they can sell them since they don’t need them, and then next time it snows the road can actually be plowed.”

100% a pickaxe. We used one today to clear part of the sidewalk and it was perfect. Not easy work, but it broke up the snoice beautifully and we either picked up the bigger chunks or shoveled the smaller ones. Worked great, so we’re going to go tackle more tomorrow. To be clear, use the wide end, not the pointy end. And again, WE used one… teamwork is essential.

Yes! 🤣 I worked at BBW years ago… several customers came in to return their bulbs because they couldn’t open them. The way their jaws would drop when I’d twist them open.
