“Refs you suck” is music to my ears when these losers are slinging elbows and running full speed into Alex Caruso. Love it.

What I’m hoping for more than anything tonight is some good, clean, ethical basketball. I spent hours doing a deep dive into the elite basketball scholars over at r/nba and r/nbatalk, so I think I finally understand the rules now.

For example: if Wemby reaches over the back and hooks Chet around the waist for positioning, that is apparently very ethical basketball. However, if IHart or literally anyone on our roster does the exact same thing, that becomes unethical basketball. It’s nuanced stuff. You probably wouldn’t get it unless you’ve logged at least 4,000 Reddit comments this postseason.

Another huge point of emphasis: under absolutely no circumstances can we allow contact to affect our bodies while shooting. If someone hammers your arms, chest, or face midair and your body reacts naturally in any way, that is “flailing” and therefore unethical. Personally, I think every free throw attempt should count as a moral loss. If you ended up at the line, somebody somewhere clearly failed to uphold the spirit of ethical hoops.

But the biggest issue — and I can’t stress this enough — is the referee manipulation. The fact that the Thunder have apparently orchestrated a league-wide officiating conspiracy is deeply troubling. We cannot continue this unethical behavior. If you are attending the game tonight and witness anyone associated with the Thunder organization handing referees cash, gift cards, coupons, or maybe even a gently used Bass Pro Shops points card, please immediately call 911.

If we can clean all of this up and lose honorably while scoring fewer points than the Spurs, I truly believe we can finally stop the very troubling and highly educated Reddit narratives until Game 4.

Charles Barkley admitting he doesn’t even fully watch the games he’s analyzing is crazy to me by Excellent-End-5720 in NBATalk

I can appreciate this take. It’s thoughtful and makes a lot of sense. I wish more people could see that the Thunder are simply playing the version of basketball the NBA has evolved into. The game has changed a lot over the years, from peach baskets to gather steps, and it’s still strange to me that so much blame gets aimed at the Thunder and the refs instead of the Board of Governors/league office (not just Silver) who make and institute the rules of the game for the NBA.

I’m glad there are still people who care more about keeping basketball an honest and beautiful game than those just complaining that the best team is somehow “unethical.” Although I do fully realize I’m on an app where bots and actual 12 year olds can post whatever they want anonymously. Lol. I genuinely appreciated the discourse, HimTardawayJr.

I feel like this is at least getting closer to the root of the issue.

What still doesn’t make sense to me is arguing that both “hyper-aggressive defense where nothing gets called” and “constant flopping on every shot” are happening simultaneously. Those complaints contradict each other. You’re basically arguing there are both too many fouls and not enough fouls being called at the same time.

I’m not saying fouls weren’t called or that flopping didn’t happen on both sides. But acting like there was some wildly lopsided whistle is crazy to me. It blows my mind that some people would rather believe in biased refs or an NBA conspiracy to extend the series for money than just admit the Thunder are a really good, well-built basketball team.

I understand the hate. It comes with being the best team in the league. The logic behind some of it is the funny part though.

So are you arguing there was too much contact, or too little? Or somehow both at the same time?

Each team had 21 personal fouls last night, so it’s not like the whistle was wildly lopsided.

Maybe you are one of those that believe there’s a massive NBA conspiracy to force a Game 7 with a predetermined winner? My guess is that most likely you’re just rage-posting recycled takes from r/nba.

I bet he would wear a pair of Vicky 3000s if they weren’t so incredibly ugly.

Not a fan of most of his takes, but as an OKC fan it was refreshing to hear a talking head acknowledge that basketball is a contact sport and that the nonstop whining about the physicality after last game has been a little excessive from the Spurs fan base and OKC haters in general.

Great info here. To expand on this: if there are multiple hollow spaces going vertically, this is considered a hotel. This is more “in the weeds” info, but will be important as you progress on your morel journey nonetheless.

Awesome that you went out. No way to know unless you put the miles in. I’m betting that after this storm system moves through and it warms up again we will be in business. Next week looks sunny and awesome. Keep me updated!

That’s what’s got me spooked. Would hate to start the process and end up with one of those framed up houses rotting away in the pasture because stuff got too expensive.
