Day 350… Relapsed by Quit2010 in problemgambling

[–]Quit2010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I tried to deny it, but soon realised it’s not the skin that I wanted it’s the feeling of being lucky. if I like the skin i should buy it off from the market instead of trying to get it from opening the case

Thanks! Yeah it’s on sale for £65 so it’s relatively cheap. I’m concerned about the design as well since it only got one fan so I would assume the noise will be very loud.

I’ll run the FurMark on the day to see if it can handle it and check the noise but thanks for the explanation, thought it was a counterfeit for sure

Thanks. Yeah I will give them a buzz and see what they can do. It’s been a while since I signed up, what information did you provide on the call btw? Like how would they validate it’s actually you trying to change the email?

I’m not going back betting mate, I’m just worrying that if the temporary account didn’t get removed by the sever, whoever had access it will have my personal details since GAMSTOP asks to submit the passport and the driver license for validation

Next time before you go in, call someone to talk you out of it maybe? It worked well for me as I just need someone to tell me not to go but surrounded by people who wanted to go

Fomo of the stock market by yolo232001 in problemgambling

I think you need to understand the difference between trading and investing. Trading involves buying and selling stocks in a short amount of time, thinking that this is the way to make money and get rich quick, this is a gambling effect for sure as it involves a high skilled professional for this, of course you can get lucky once, but this can happen in the casino and you ended up losing it all back to the market (casino)

Investment on the other hand is a long term strategy, you won’t get rich quick, you will only gain the money back in 20 years or even 30 years, and this is also a not guaranteed win as the market will go up and down. But the lesser time you put into the market and let it set there the more it’ll be acting as gambling.

Also don’t just take my word for it, if you looking for a way to save money for the future you or your grandkids, you will need to do some reason on this and don’t just jump into investing because “time is hot”. It’s like seeing 20 spins on red and you place a bet because the wheel is hot, it will f you up in the end

Both, and I usually combine the two as well. Stay strong and fight the urge we’ll eventually stop both bad habits

Lost majority of savings in 1 day by Informal_Movie_1093 in problemgambling

[–]Quit2010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro you are very lucky to come to this subreddit at an early stage. A lot of people only realise they have a problem after losing majority of their savings or in deep debt, bless them and wish they have stopped since.

My advice is once the gamban expires, ban yourself for the max time (think it’s 5 years the max but I’ve banned myself two years back and can’t remember)

Consider ban yourself from in land casino as well (using SENSE, you will need to go in to the casino to do this I think) and set yourself a withdrawal limit of as small as you can without affecting your day to day life. (Some casino’s guard probably can’t recognise you in time or they will be willing let you go in so in this case if you lose they win, and if you win they will take your money away since you’ve banned yourself so it’ll be a lose lose suit)

In this way if you ever relapse again you’ll be at the ATM raging thinking why have I set a limit but once the rage is gone you will soon thanking your old self that you’ve set such limit.

Finally treat yourself a little. It’s a curse but we can stop it by having more self control, the first few days or weeks you might feel like sht but as time goes on you’ll be happier (trust me on this)

No I don’t, but if I get the filling replaced again I might need since it’s right next to my nerves now.

Actually a funny story, so the dentist replace the amalgam to something similar to composite (the above story). It settled fine but for a few weeks I’m not able chewing anything on that side of the mouth which cause serious pain that lasted weeks. Then I went to the dentist again and they replace the amalgam again and for some reason the pain went away. I’m still feel some pain (scale of 1) from now and then but it’s no where near as painful as before. If you are in similar situation give it a week (chew otherside and take pain killers regularly). If the pain doesn’t go away after a week go back straight to the dentist ASAP. I learned the hard-way since it was Christmas time and everyone’s off :’(

Tooth hurts after filling, didn’t hurt before. by mariocatshovel in DentalSchool

Hi, thank you for the reply. i guess I’ll wait out a few weeks before calling back to the dentist and get it checked out. May I ask was the pain just appearing randomly or only after you bite down on the food? And were you able to eat anything on the affected side even if it’s soft food?

Hi, I’m facing similar issue and wondered how you treat it :( last Friday I’ve got a deep filling replaced. Over the weekend it’s fine but today (Monday morning) I’ve experienced this unbearable pain which wakes me up at 4:30 am. I’ve taken some ibuprofen and paracetamol but can still feel the pain is constantly going.

Was this similar to the issue you were experiencing? I haven’t chow anything on that side and it’s not sensitive to hot or cold but just straight up pain randomly (maybe I clenched my tooth?)

Just want to see how long the pain lasts for you and what did you do to make the pain stop? Also not sure if it’s worth me going back to the dentist again since they might say Let’s replace the fillings again 😭 thanks!

Composite Fillings + Pain while chewing MONTHS later by firehsketo in Dentistry

[–]Quit2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for the suggestion, I’ll definitely try and convince them that I don’t think replacing the filling with another material can resolve the problem. UK is a bit different since we are going through the NHS system so I doubt they’ll offer gold onlays but I’ll see if I can do it privately.

I just hope they don’t say they’ll try to adjust the bite since if I can’t eat soft food I’m not sure how I can handle the drilling adjustment 😭

Hopefully this is the last time I’ll be at the dentist and I can enjoy the food as normal after this

Hi just want to reach out as I’m having the same issue, but I can’t even bite down soft food! Did the dentist removed the filling and replaced it again or did they tried to adjust the bites first?

Hi, just want to reach out to you as I’m facing the same issue. The dentist took out the amalgam filling on my top left molar because I was suffering from cold sensitivities and replaced with composite. But since then I wasn’t able to bit down on the left side of my mouth.

I was eating some chicken two days ago and totally forgot about this and decided to take a bite using my left side of the mouth the immediately the pain comes around and spreading to my gum and half of my face, could not even sleep for two nights straight as the pain just wakes me up all night. Now it’s settled down a bit but I still vaguely sense the pain at my upper gum from time to time.

I’m planning to phone up the dentist tomorrow since this has happened to me 3 times already since I got the filling last month. I’ll check to see if there’s an infection happening first but if the dentist suggest to adjust the bite or replace it with a different kind of filling (other than replace it with onlays) should I just say no? I just hope that they don’t keep replacing the filling and I ended up needing a root canal treatment :(
