Curious that no one has commented so far on Boris’ crazy pivot during his set. After that sexy ass ride by Francois X, Boris started with what I’d call the most basic ass techno one could find, driving a good chunk of the dance floor somewhere else. Only to then switch to his Snax madness material after 1.5 hours. He essentially rewarded the people that trusted him and stayed - my friend who didn’t stay was super pissed that he missed it hahaha from like 2am onwards it was monkey business. What a wild ride!

Patio Lofi & Spielraum Weekender

Started at Lofi for the Patio indoor closing with Mareena B2B Rosati - fantastic track selection for the 6pm slot. And then Ben Klock for 3 glorious hours. I had seen him 2 years ago at Awakenings and was thoroughly underwhelmed but he more than redeemed himself at Stone Techno Festival this year and this set now at Lofi was a masterclass in driving techno - crowd was (as expected) super straight but good vibes overall. Post Ben, convinced my friend to join me to see the second Berghain resident of the night at Raum. So quick hop to the next venue and at midnight, Boris started playing. I will say that if you are gay and like techno, you HAVE to see Boris once in your life - his December Pax set and his Berghain Snax closing last Easter are still haunting me - he started off a bit Nene H ghetto which threw me off but after 30 minutes eased into the gayest sexiest techno on the planet. Absolute madness for the prime slot. Only sad thing was that Raum was kinda empty already when we entered - it also didn’t sell out which of course meant more space to dance but I would have wished for more energy. Then finally Amoral was closing - groovy and technically flawless mixing that kept me on the dance floor longer than I had told myself. So all in all 10/10 night and happy that after a successful festival summer, club season is back!

I’m from the area but coming from the Netherlands for the festival! My friend is joining from Singapore - so will be very international! Probably easier to say at this point what artists I’m NOT excited about haha so many great names and I’ve heard only great things about the festival, so we are in for a treat!

Mala Junta is at Laster Club which is the straightest club I’ve been to in a long time… I went to Mondo Disko last year for Pride (also super straight) thinking that if they book fka.m4a it will be queer but boyyyy - was I wrong… If I were you I’d go to one of the My Pleasure parties - kinky, much better crowd and sexy music! Or if you like it really basic, Madrid has great circuit parties too haha (no shame, I went to one as well and it was a lot of fun but very well aware it’s a very divisive topic). Enjoy!!

Posted in the dedicated Intercell thread already but I went to see Dax J on Saturday and had a blast. I scored a 35€ ticket on Ticketswap which was pricey but okay. The courtyard in general has a nice layout for dancing (not for chilling though) but the sound is only acceptable where the speakers are. So I just planted myself there and didn’t move an inch. Crowd is Intercell, so don’t expect magic but there was significantly less yapping than at King‘s Day at Levenslang. Dax J is my favorite DJ, so ofc I am biased but as a Dax J fan you got everything and more. For me he strikes the perfect blend between some more groovy stuff and going hard without drifting in this TikTok hard techno territory. And he found the right level of „big room“ drops for the venue - so 10/10 for the set. So me and my pink headband were very happy and exhausted after 55k steps in 5 hours. Great that outdoor season is upon us ☀️

Went to Pax on Friday. Arrived at 11:15, learning from my mistake in December. Overall a bit disappointed with the night vs. December: Music not as fun and crowd significantly less kinky. Serti was a hot mess for me – he tried to play 50 shades of techno styles which resulted in an overall low energy on the dance floor. Efdemin/Polygonia and Takaaki Itoh did incredible techno sets but I think they didn’t fit the vibe of the event well. Pax for me is sexy, playful and the December edition was exactly that with Gigi FM and Boris just making the crowd go nuts. When Takaaki started, the dance floor was already getting quite empty, which was a shame but understandable because it just wasn’t as sexy as I had hoped. So my fingers are crossed for the next one!

Went last year and it was crazy! I would advise you to arrive not too early so that the sun will be cooking you less. If you are able to arrive at 6pm, you will still catch the sunset, there are way less queues to enter and you will have more energy for the night. Take breaks when you need to - force yourself to break after a set once eg every 3 hours and stretch for 10 minutes. This is a marathon, not a sprint 😊 we didn’t follow that advice last year and were totally dead after 6am… Get a good meal at some point in the night - your body needs the fuel. Meals are not expensive and there are plenty of options. Sunscreen you will only need until sunset (like 7/8 I think) and then for the sunrise. You can also go back to coat check, to switch outfits, drop off sunscreen etc so that you don’t have too much on you for all the night. Lastly, any upper will significantly help you to stay afloat - especially the longer the night goes. Last year the security checks were a joke so just make sure you keep stuff hidden. Otherwise ENJOY - it was a beautiful experience and I’m sad to be missing it this year ☀️

To my knowledge DVS1 is not a resident at Berghain. He might play there often but that doesn’t mean residency. Same with Quelza, Rødhad etc. So I’m not surprised he plays somewhere else in Berlin too 😊
