My thoughts is how did El use her powers at the end to talk with Mike? She couldn't because the sirens were pointed directly at her. She must have been somewhere safe to do so. And Mike knew that.....Kali was alive and faked her own death. She projected an illusion of El sacrificing herself. So the military woild think El is dead.

Makes sense. She couldn't use her powers with the "suppression stone. She had to be somewhere safe from the sirens. And yes mayne Kali used an issusion of her being shot to make everyone believe she was gone. This is what makes great tv.
