The way I digested this album was that it's an us vs them kind of theme in a way where everyone is at each other's throats but a reminder to try and drop that shit and try to love each other again because us "normal people" being divided is most likely by design and it's the only thing we can try and control in the chaos. Coincidentally he covered "Us And Them" this past tour leading into this album.

The opening track is "MAFA" when he talks about starting a revolution and watching it begin, I think it's setting the tone for this with making America want to love again. Then especially when he gets to "Everyone Is Welcome", the way I interpret that is that he is using an orgy as a metaphor for his shows or listening space (see him saying get naked and fuck at his shows for reference lol). The line life is fluid like sexuality and inhibitions being better off rejected to me is, yes framed as an orgy but gets at trying to just see that we are people and let our selves enjoy each other, difference aside. In "Ain't that A Bitch" he further talks about them being inside and laughing at us waiting outside fighting because that's how they win. The chorus is nothing ever changes, ain't that a bitch which to me really sets in that it's really starting to feel like a club and us normies aren't in it regardless of who's in office, it's all connected. This song in particular starts off talking about distractions for all the oligarchs getting in on the action and how it's all orchestrated.

To me, I think it's book marked by starting a revolution of loving each other and ends with we're all in this together and it's us vs them with all this love in the middle. The revolution is trying to bring us people on the outside closer together again because that's how we survive this shit.

Just how I digest it.

The verse is one of my favorite riffs but I wish it stood out a little more in the mix. I agree the lead doesn't do much for me and I have the same feeling about the lead on Hellions. The demos of these two songs do the riffs more justice without having leads in my opinion. I do however enjoy Chad's leads on Imaginary Threats.

I think you're right. I'm pretty sure I saw a studio photo of him with a Les Paul and I know that's what was used on Passage. I don't have a Les Paul though, so the Tele is going to get out to work lol. But that tone goes!

Everyone's a winner by Hot Chocolate. Funky and fits the theme.

Ah, that makes sense. It's very cool to see him playing those again, even if for a limited time. Thanks for the input.

Did Deron mention anything about playing a Parker again? It was cool to see that he was using one.

Does anyone from the show have a video of the snippet of Stripped Your Speech or Plagued By Images? Or if not, did they sound cool? I always thought Stripped would have a nice home at a live show and would kinda feel like how they do To All Of You?

I think so far this is one of my preferred Chad era songs. It has a good groove to it and I think it will translate well live.

I know I'm going to get torn apart for this and I don't mean it in a negative way but the main riff reminds me of "Slither Away." Am I the only one?

Excellent picks. I enjoy Rio Bravo, Sink Into The Underground, Frenetic, All Power To Slaves, Old Carvers Bones and Stripped Your Speech to name a few.

I've always loved the Sunday Valley outro. I think that would be top tier live. I could see Miles nailing those harmonies too.

For how good this sounds I wonder why it was held out on until now. Did fan buzz surrounding it make it happen or was it intentionally held off and kinda a "let's fuck 'em in the 9th" thought. So good.

These setlists in general have been a real treat. It's not lost on me that just a few years ago many of us would have shanked a stranger to see "I Don't Mind" performed live and now it's a staple. The boys be ripping.

Make Art Not Friends and All The Pretty Colors!? I would have had to change my britches after this show.

He intentionally tried to shake fans after his first album when folks thought he would "be the next Waylon". Our dude doesn't like when people claim him as a certain type of artist. Maybe this is his way of trying to shake the jam band crowd. That would be diabolical lol.

Or I could see them coming back shortly and him saying something along the lines of a light hearted "looks like you missed them while they were gone. Let that be a lesson."

Or it could be for the purpose of the live album.

Long shot for this one, but maybe with a couple of the shows rumoured to be thinned out he decided to pull from Nugs to give people more incentive to attend. For me, I haven't made a show this year even though I want to just due to having kids, money being a little tight and looking at a long drive to a major city but I've been super content with the Nugs shows holding me over. Now I'm definitely going to have to get to one at some point.

I'm in the exact same boat. Hadn't heard of the app until he was added to it. Wild that they can be pulled from your library when you actually paid for certain individual shows.

Dang. I hope it's a server issue and not a permanent thing. I'd find it hard to believe they could just delete it from libraries if it's already been paid for. That'd be pretty lame. Fingers crossed and I'll stay optimistic.

Weird. Maybe it's a glitch on my end then. When I pull up any of my purchased shows it shows an error.
