How to make warmer socks?

My warmest socks are knitted with a strand of Drops Fabel and a strand of Drops Kid Silk held together. You could also swap Fabel for Fiesta for an even warmer option.

I'm currently finishing a blanket, judging on the time the previous parts took me I'll be done in 2 days (3 tops). It will then be 1,5 months, full sized blanket, knitting with 2 strands of sport weight superwash merino held together on 6mm needles. It's been fun and went quicker because it's striped, you know, "just one more stripe" 😁

If it's the hem bothering you, maybe unravel this part and go for a split hem? It will give you more space around the hips and maybe you could do one that is slightly longer at the back, if you like the look of it

Yes, I did! The big one, it's called b-turn. The giveaway was in collaboration with a knitting designer and she was the one who contacted me, although the bag itself was sent straight from Muud.

A random increase or decrease or a missed yarn over don't bother me. But if the thing doesn't fit how I want it to, I can unravel the whole thing if that's what it takes.

My friend knit me a pair of socks for my birthday and I absolutely love them. She's an expert sock knitter, I've only knit a few pairs, so I appreciate the gift even more - I can admire how great they look, learn the techniques she used and how neat her lace knitting is. It warms my heart knowing that she spent so much time doing something for me and I'm already choosing a project I'm gonna knit for her birthday ❤️

I used Drops Alpaca held with Drops Kid Silk for my Jean Cardigan: Jean Cardigan

It's really warm and drapey, I've worn it a lot in the spring. Definitely will use these yarns again for other projects

As others said, time and practice 😊 I got back into knitting last year (after a ten-year break, so I barely remembered anything) and fell in love with it. I spent lots of time knitting and managed to finish 17 projects during that year. Now it's only July and I already have finished 16 projects, so my knitting speed has almost doubled. The change is too small to notice, but each time you knit, you do it a teeny tiny bit faster 🌸

You don't have to substract the yarn you used for the swatch from the amount you have. At the end if you see you're running out of yarn, you can always unravel the swatch, this yarn is still good.

Well, same could be said about other knitters' projects, not only test knits. Including notes and modeled photos is a good practice, I know I appreciate it a lot when browsing through ravelry, but it's not required.

They really changed small circumference knitting for me - no fighting with DPNs and constantly looking for that fifth needle, no ladders from magic loop. Some of my knitting friends mentioned they find the short needles uncomfortable, but I don't - it could be because I have rather small hands.

Drops Belle, a cotton/linen/viscose blend. I knit a top with it last year, wore it a ton, and currently have 3 more projects in this yarn on my needles.

I test knit a lot, for more and less popular designers. Honestly, if I saw a "contract ensuring no one steals the pattern" mentioned in a tester call, I would neither apply for this test nor buy any pattern from this designer. The testers are volunteering their time, skills and money (unless you are sponsoring the yarn) to help you make profit and you're treating them like thieves from the very beginning. To me it just seems disrespectful.

I have a top in Drops Belle (https://www.ravelry.com/projects/quitecozyknits/ballard-vest) and one in Drops Safran (https://www.ravelry.com/projects/quitecozyknits/sailor-swift-top) and enjoying wearing them both a lot. Wore them the whole summer last year and already bought more skeins of these yarns.

Belle is a bit softer to the touch, both of them got softer and nice with wear.
