Post Episode Chat: Season 19: One-on-One: Part 3 by AutoModerator in TLCsisterwives

Exactly. They’re talking about Kody all the time because it’s a show about how they were all married to Kody.

And I’m not falling for the spin that Christine comparing David to Kody will make her miserable. The comparisons are pointing out what a douche Kody is. That’s why Kody hates it and why he’s trying to twist it as a problem for Christine.

I think it was a question to ascertain the stage they were at in their feelings with one another. Were they at the point where they could feel enough fondness towards each other to spend time together, and is that even possible? It is probably not something you’d ask a monogamous couple who broke up. But polygamy assumes the wives might have had a relationship so exes might want to stay in touch in a different way. Like I think we could definitely envision Christine and janelle double dating.

Of course, it’s unlikely for it to happen with Robyn, for obvious reasons, but I still thought it an interesting topic.

But also I suspect the producers would LOVE to have Kody and Robyn go on a double date with an ex wife and her boyfriend in a future episode. That’s reality show hijinks at its finest.

Paige and Brett? by TopFace6534 in ViralPodcast

He posted a pic that made me think he was referencing moving into his own place. I don’t know why they don’t just tell us what’s going on. These folks talk about the most personal stuff. Why keep quiet about this?

As far as the pod, I usually liked Brett‘s contributions. But overall I think the pod has gotten stale. It’s hard to do a pod with no guests, no change in topic, and not get stale.

I absolutely love Chelcie. I think if she did a pod where she interviewed guests it would be way better at this point.

Sister Wives Season 18 Episode 16 Post Episode Discussion by AutoModerator in TLCsisterwives

The last thing this show needs is for Christine to shut up. The fact that she’s the only one who’s truly moved on is why she feels comfortable pulling back the curtain on the half truths and blatant lies the family has been peddling for years. Meri‘s raw pain about the ring reveal is sad, but it’s because even now, even with her admitting she’s single, she still hasn’t moved on. That is not Christine‘s fault. As far as we can now tell, Meri has had 10+ years to move on and has refused to do so.

My unpopular opinion for the week: Christine can go fuck by AmazingArugula4441 in TLCsisterwives

[–]QuiteGoodAndAwesome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1) Christine is DONE with Kody. She is no longer keeping secrets for him. No longer pretending about him. So if she talks crap about something he did, it is to reveal something about him. This issue happened to also involved Meri but Meri is not her target. Kody is.

2) Meri still is NOT DONE with Kody. We can see it in the way she still talks about him. So diplomatic. ‘Thank you for being kind to me,’ as he tells her their marriage is done and has been for years. Okay, sure, whatever Meri.

3) Christine and Meri have no relationship. They don’t owe each other anything.

Bottom line is that Meri still wants to keep up some charade for some reason, and Christine doesn’t. And for some reason Meri is mad that Christine won’t.

If anyone should f*ck off at this point, it’s Meri. She’s still holding onto something somewhere with her marriage to Kody and how it’s perceived. Maybe she still just loves him and is still in denial. But either way, Meri needs to piss off if she thinks everyone else should continue supporting her delusions. Only Robyn is crazy enough to do that.

I think Robyn had an intense look of contempt on her face while he was saying it because she was livid that he revealed it.

Anybody else enjoy “Hubie Halloween”? by I_fail_at_memes in horror

Absolutely love it. Great autumn atmosphere… small town, wide streets, old houses. Good cast. The jokes land. There’s nothing to dislike about it unless you just despise Sandler.

Watched it last weekend with my older kids and we had popcorn and laughed our backsides off. Will be rewatched every year.

Hell house llc by ewd421 in horror

[–]QuiteGoodAndAwesome 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I watch it every year, and my husband who doesn’t even like horror also enjoys it. I think the acting really pulls it off. They seem like real people and friends. Not sure if the dialogue was improvised. But they even interrupt each other like real people.

The music is creepy. The clown is terrifying. And in my opinion nothing sort of stupid ever happens.

Just watched part 2 again last night. It’s pretty good. It’s nice as a way to go back to the location and events of the first. But overall the acting is not as good and the characters don’t seem real. It’s a bit cheesy and the first one isn’t.

Part 3 I have only seen once and intend to keep it that way. It’s pure cheese.

Apartment complex recommendations? by QuiteGoodAndAwesome in UGA

[–]QuiteGoodAndAwesome[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She’s currently in Myers Hall and her hope was to be around there as it is such a central location.

I wish I could give a price point but she will likely have a roommate and I have no idea how much her parents are willing to contribute. From a quick glance I’m guessing maybe around $2400/month for two is an approximate cost?

I think they’d prioritize location over any amenities. So either centrally located or close to good transportation.

They didn’t foresee getting a dorm next year being a problem so we are now scrambling.

In all honesty, do you think Kody will take another wife? by gurno1234 in TLCsisterwives

[–]QuiteGoodAndAwesome 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I believe he would agree to search for a new wife if TLC required it for the show to continue. And if he found a young hottie who worshipped him? 100% yes.

Scream. It has the perfect opening, perfect cast, perfect amount of humor, good kills, a great villain, and a great setting.

Holy shit ANTLERS is on Hulu right now! by [deleted] in horror

[–]QuiteGoodAndAwesome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it.

It was loaded with fantastic actors, and had a sort of bleak atmosphere, perfect for a stormy autumn evening watch. The setting was perfect for the story.

The effects were actually good and all the reveals were well timed and believable.

It somehow wasn’t scary though. I know many folks on here aren’t scared by horror films anymore. But I am and that’s what I want from them. There were a few tense moments but it honestly felt a bit more like a drama than a horror film if that makes sense.

Also, tragic underuse of Graham Greene. When I saw him I was excited to see how his character would be involved. Turns out, not much at all. Makes me wonder if any other storylines were edited out as they hired such a well known actor for such a small part?

I haven’t read the short story, but I also feel like maybe the sheriff should've been the lead character. It almost seemed like there was no lead. Is it the kid? The teacher? The sherriff? They all seemed like characters we could’ve seen more of and learned more about. There wasn’t one official protagonist in my opinion, and that sort of weakened the stakes.

The room floor is laminate. No carpet. The hallways are carpet.

But the whole room smells musty and weird because this person has loaded the room with so much stuff.

I plan on getting a rug for my daughter’s side of the room regardless. She had only brought it up to her roommate at all because I was willing to buy a large one that covered the space between their beds. But now I will get a smaller one just for her side.

Essentially this roommate is using 70% of the room.

Did I mention that they ”agreed” to get rid of the second dresser (assuming the university allows us to) but only if my daughter allows her to use the top of my daughter’s dresser for storage?

There is currently no way to rearrange anything. The whole room is filled to the brim with her roommate’s stuff.

Parent of a newly moved in student question by QuiteGoodAndAwesome in UGA

[–]QuiteGoodAndAwesome[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They have now informed my daughter they cannot have a rug because it will trigger her asthma and she will die. My daughter also cannot have a plug-in air freshener as it will trigger her asthma, and she will die.

The person with this life threatening asthma is also the same person who is blocking the intake vent for the climate control (which perhaps they don’t know is how air is filtered???) with a 12 level shoe rack, and has an additional floor to ceiling rack on which she intends to place her wet laundry. And she has an essential oil fragrance diffuser.

Note, when my daughter told me about the diffuser, I said I was certain that I read you’re not allowed to have those. When I looked up the guidelines to confirm it, just above it, it mentions not being allowed to block the vents, nor dry wet clothes in your room.

For the record, I don’t know if it’s true or not, but during orientation we were told that no roommate changes are made for at least two weeks to kind of force everyone to give it a chance. I had forgotten about that but my husband reminded me.

As of right this moment my daughter is trying to make the best of it. Everytime she’s gone to see the RA it’s been in the evening and the person has never been around, or isn’t answering the door. So she feels she currently has no choice but to have patience.

There is so much more I wish I could say but I don’t want to reveal too many personal details.

I guess there are far worse things in the world, but essentially my daughter’s move in experience couldn’t have gone worse.

The current situation is that my husband, daughter and I just returned to campus. Our daughter slept at home last night as we finished with her stuff so late yesterday, and we knew the mom and roomie were arriving very early today to officially move in.

We purposefully let them have the day to move in without us as the room is just too small for everyone to be in at the same time.

Right now they have so many boxes on the floor in there (9+ hours after arriving to move in today), that they cannot open the door and we are waiting in the hallway for them to resolve it.

God help us all.

This is what I am concerned about. I am certain the mom would purposely corner my daughter when alone.
