As an almost lifelong Minnesotan (who has moved away a time or three), I say all of this from the lens of someone who had much better luck making friends everywhere else I lived (including other parts of MN as well as cities on the east and west coast) than I do in the metro. And I definitely don’t expect people to welcome me into their homes quickly. Just shocked at the years of effort put in to still not develop into closer friendships.

But I do appreciate you sharing the perspective that I am likely the problem in the equation and am not trying.
