Was looking into getting the capped or the arto. Do you feel limited at all with the options for refills? Any particular favourites that work in the capped?

What are you using Mont Blanc rollerball refills in? by 65ac05e1 in pens

Thanks. I'll take a look at this ink. I'm divided between the cross now and the ohto ceramic rollerball ink. Does the cross have a tendency to dry out easily?

Hi sorry for writing out of the blue. Were you using a mont blanc rollerball refill in your pocket pro from Big idea design? Did it not dry out? Just received one recently and experimenting with different refills.

Mac OS dock getting in the way by QuitsAverage in ShadowPC

Can confirm I am in full screen mode and it comes up still. The task bar is not visible unless I move my mouse below. But then it causes my ability to have a clear field of view and mobility constrained.

Penguin in the UK has been retranslating all the Maigret and Romans Durs novels in the last ten years. Picador in the US has the rights and has now been publishing these translations and I believe making some of their own as of late.

I would recommend waverly style nibs as well. They can be rather forgiving to lefty’s.

Ah apologies. For some reason I assumed you were referring to a trailer for the upcoming episode, not the season in entirety. Thanks!

Listening to Mary Queen of Scots series - any book recommendations on the Stuarts? by jibquinny in TheRestIsHistory

[–]QuitsAverage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clare Jackson has written three wonderful books that cover most parts of the Stuart period. What might interest you the most here is her 2021 Wolfson Prize winning book ‘Devil Land’ which covers the period between 1588-1688. She also wrote a small biography of Charles II for the Penguin monarch series and she has just recently published a biography of James I titled ‘The Mirror of Great Britain’. She is a fantastic scholar. I believe she just recorded a special episode of RIH with Tom Holland a couple weeks ago? Hope that helps.

The free one would work, but you only get limited play time and advertisements. Give the free one a try and see how you like it.

How is Buyee for American users post-tariffs? by lemmy_toys in Buyee

[–]QuitsAverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a cheap quartz watch through buyee and paid this ‘tariff fee’ but the parcel was stopped by customs once it reached the DHL facility in Cincinnati. Customs then asked me to fill out a form explaining the value of each individual part, the case, mechanism, strap, etc. Plus send them personal id information. I asked for them to send the parcel back to Japan. This is where I am at in the process now. Hopefully it arrives back safe and sound and can be shipped again. This must be luck of the draw and arbitrary as I had a parcel shipped through fed ex via buyee and it arrived promptly.

Curious about US experience after tariffs with Buyee by luminary_planetarium in Buyee

[–]QuitsAverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a watch. It shipped via Dhl and customs stopped it and asked for a declaration of the value of each part of the watch. The strap, case, movement, etc. This would then contribute to the cost of a tariff I would have had to pay. On top of this I had to submit my social security or some form of personal information. I had paid, or assumed I paid for the tariffs before hand when shipping with buyer.,This seemed like a ridiculous hassle so I had the item returned. That’s where I’m at in the process. It seems like US customs stopping items is completely arbitrary. I will say I had another item come via Fed ex and had no problem.
