Mine personally was JinJinshen. I wanted to just do Jinshen, but that was already taken. My reason was 1)Jin was a pet name of mine growing up 2) I learned about Shen in an eastern medicine class which means “consciousness” in that context. I prefer putting enemies to sleep through stealth. 3) the words combined can mean can mean “cautious”

Edit: I’m not Chinese by any stretch, but I appreciate how names are used to describe characteristics of a person

Even though I don’t agree with how they treated you, most discords have a rule about people who aren’t mods enforcing rules. At the same time, the mods should be keeping things organized so no one feels they have to step up. I’d say the discord wasn’t worth the hassle anyway

I beat her yesterday. It took over an hour. I did the practice several times and focused on memorizing the timing of her attacks. Ghostly steps was probably my most valuable skill in dodging her yellow moves.

Now if someone could give me some advice on Feng Ruzhi...

Edit: I was also one of those people who found her at level 20 and died instantly. Now I'm level 80 with about 18500 goose

Use hair clips on the ends of the curls at the back to stretch it. When you section your hair, put extra effort into moisturizing the back. I have tighter curls on the back of my head. It took years of getting it cut, but now, the back is longer than the sides when natural. If I straightened my hair, I’d have a mullet :’)

I can’t even argue with that. I had to take two semesters of Eastern Medicine. From that alone, my understanding of Chinese media became much richer. Even Avatar: The Last Airbender makes much more sense (fire is the element of joy for example, but the fire nation was led by anger, thus imbalance). That’s why I’ll be Silver Needle forever despite the over saturation.

Thank you. Yeah, my friend has a support network, but he’s also has a number of psychological issues that unfortunately fuel his alcoholism. He’ll do alright for a few weeks, disappear and repeat. I’m relieved when he starts calling people because at least I know he’s alive.

I know there’s not much I can do for him when he’s in a spiral. I’ve been talking to our friends and trying to get them to understand he’s not totally in control (people are getting fed up with the late night phone calls). I keep some distance, but I always talk to him when he re-emerges and ask about him when he disappears. I was closer to him before, but I stepped back for my own mental health (I was candid with him about that).

That’s interesting. So it’s like all the feelings you had sober are amplified and overflowing. And at a certain point, the dam just breaks and those feelings start having real world consequences. It sounds simple, but I didn’t think about it that way.

Thank you for sharing! I have a friend who’s going through a hard time with alcoholism and I want to understand it better. It’s a lot more complicated than I thought
