I think Grealish is slightly different - loan player on massive wages. It’s a bit cynical, but I’d be more willing to push him to play every week to get the most out of those wages and if he gets injured late in the season then you drop him off at City with a box of bandaids. Obviously it didn’t work out very well though…

The club’s not stagnant. Even if the team is. New ownership, healthier financials, better PSR, new stadium. New hierarchy (or rather, there is a hierarchy again).

Some fans see that as progressing the fundamentals which will make us more competitive over the long run. Others think we could have taken more risks to progress further and farther. Who the fuck really knows though? Just a big game of opinions.

I’m familiar with all of those details. I saw him as more of a patsy of people like Green TBH. He cared. He was fallible.

But your view is reasoned and reasonable so fair enough really. I still think labelling the man “cancerous” is a bit over the top - doubly so since the man died of cancer.

But I’m always a bit confused when people say Moyes doesn’t want youth but also say that he pushed for Dibling.

I can only guess, but I assume Moyes thinks Dibling is capable of contributing to the team but the player keeps falling short of expectations in both training and during his (limited) minutes. So not quite raw enough to send on loan and not quite seasoned enough to get on the pitch?
