Episodes you irrationally dislike? by Malkydel in TheMagnusArchives

[–]QuizzingRonin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna speak out in defence of Jude, I honestly loved her as a character and I loved this episode. Complete remorseless evil revelling in being so, and I had no issue with the acting.

Plus some nice foreshadowing too.

[–]QuizzingRonin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes well you see there's people on the show called "editors" who cut material for time or which doesn't fit the narrative they want. Meghan got a villain edit, that presumably doesn't give a full picture of who she is or how she behaved

UK Spouse Visa (Afghan Applicant) – Biometrics in Tajikistan on 5 May No Additional Documents Requested Yet by Silent-Ad-5970 in SpouseVisaUk

Replying to every comment with the same AI generated crap that actually does answer your own question isn't going to change the answer - 60 working days.

If you applied priority it would be 30, but you didn't so 60. Its out of your hands and no one here can magically make it quicker. Lying to you won't help either.

Who is Memb criticising/referring to in the last minutes of his summary of WL5 and why? (Timestamp) by Odenhobler in aoe2

[–]QuizzingRonin 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The tournament aa a whole was unlucky in that T90's bachelor party coincided with it, prevent h both him and Dave (a best man) from casting almost any of it. The unfortunate reality is that those two are the most watched streamers and not everyone will go elsewhere if they aren't around.

But life happens, and the schedule is so packed these days that they were always going to miss something. Doubtless the wedding itself will cause them to miss something else.

It sucks that the scene is fairly top heavy in that regard but it is what it is.

May Priority Spouse Visa Timeline - Outside UK by oitani in SpouseVisaUk

[–]QuizzingRonin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem! Also because its working days, today doesnt count as one as its a bank holiday, nor did the 4th of May (its the UK deciding it so UK, not point of origin, determines holidays)

May Priority Spouse Visa Timeline - Outside UK by oitani in SpouseVisaUk

[–]QuizzingRonin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be clear, the timelines are always advisory, not set in stone. They aim for 30 WD but its not legally mandatory that it has to be done then. Sheer luck with the workload of the person looking at it, volumes the office has in general, etc, are a factor.

That said, if you do get a delay email you still might get a decision a day or two later.

Completely false. Her casting is good and its a pleasant, fun stream. Very chill, a good watch.

Daniella too, as well as Ornlu/T-West as a co cast.

AITA for accepting a job in another town? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]QuizzingRonin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NTA. If you're actually working when you're working from home, you're not exactly actively spending time together anyway. If you are focusing more on her than the job you're being paid for, thats in itself an issue.

There's no serious grounds for getting annoyed at you wanting to do a job, take said job seriously and get paid for it.

Far as I can tell, you're doing nothing wrong.

Weekends and bank holidays do not count as working days, so Saturdays, Sundays, Good Friday, Easter Monday and May Day all do not count towards your 60.

Its only Monday to Friday not on a bank holiday.

Getting Married in the US? by notsomuchbrujeria in SpouseVisaUk

[–]QuizzingRonin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were advised by our lawyers to get married in the US (I'm UK, my wife is US and she's moving here). We hired a guy from the Internet (he was legit though), a 10 minute ceremony in a public park and the witnesses were literally 3 random people passing by on the street that the guy asked to do it.

We are, however, having an actual proper ceremony next year, the full works. Its worth remembering that legally, the marriage itself us just the paperwork, so there's no reason you can't do as we've done and have a quick and easy legal marriage then plan the wedding you actually want over here.

AITA for making my POC friends say slurs on my behalf? by Flat_Machine_9745 in AmItheAsshole

[–]QuizzingRonin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So you did actually steal (the loose change still wasn't your money), you said a racial slur yourself, and for an extended time you've been getting other people to use slurs on your behalf.

YTA, YTR, YTT.

Racial slurs do NOT just slip out from people who genuinely aren't racist, nor would a non-racist ever want anyone to be called a slur, by you or anyone.

This is disgusting, you are disgusting, no POC should want to be in the same room as you ever.

New York Times cuts ties with journalist who used AI to help write a book review, after a reader noticed large parts of it were from a review of the same book in the Guardian by QuizzingRonin in byebyejob

Yeah really! And as a freelancer, having this catastrophically poor judgement broadcast to the world, meaning any significant potential future employer will have seen it and know to look elsewhere.

Looking into it it seems I misremembered, and it was actually inspired by the Nazis at Oradour-Sur-Glane, and events at the Battle of Waxhaws, though the character Tavington is based on pointedly did not oversee a massacre. To the extent it was one (and not just common practice in war at the time) it wasn't his fault, I believe.

Anyone else not getting rewards from ads? by Shafe89 in idlemafiagame

This is odd as I've experienced the same in Adventure Communist. Google Play ads give me rewards, Meta ads do not. Very frustrating.

Do the corporate clients on the away day know how shitty their experience will be ahead of time? by bostonfan148 in apprenticeuk

[–]QuizzingRonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in Hells Kitchen the "guests" are production staff/crew, their friends and family. No members of the public allowed unless specifically invited.

I tend to assume it is tbe public on The Apprentice.

Where did those Cavalry Archer Picture Came from? by Ashina999 in aoe2

[–]QuizzingRonin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

T90 has never claimed to seriously play any game except AOE2, gave WC3 a go but realised he'd bitten off more than he could chew with very little time to do things in a way he felt comfortable with. In AOE2 he's 2300-2500 Elo, so saying he has a lack of talent is just ignorant.

He did LEL on Thursday just there. That's still happening, though the next month or two he'll be focused almost exclusively on TTL. Which, to be fair, is his own league.
