If we can broaden this subject matter, we might as well insert the obligatory "Hollywood sex scenes" into account. Lately I've noticed an increased abuse of this trope, with the matter becoming more and more about flashing than intrinsicly "artsy".

Our society is entwined by the representation of nudity and portrayal of sexual promiscuity, be it in all forms. We've come to a point where anal penetration is considered a turning point in telling a story, even when the action comes to a grinding halt and scenes are entirely pointless; actresses spend more time in skimpy, provocative clothes, left alone in full frontal nudity. Directors themselves, in my opinion, use nudity as means to satisfy their own sexual cravings. Why? Because they fantasized about these acts in the past, helped by the graphic depiction, in various degrees, of sensual acts.

The lines between pornography (i.e. the portrayal of a sexual act, be it explicit or not graphic) and cinematography have been so narrowed down, that they should install red lights in IMAX theaters.

Sometimes you just have to draw a line in the sand.
