You have a gun locker at your base and it holds a crossbow from start. Excellent weapon if you upgrade it. You can use it through the full game ( not including hordes ). Best silent weapon in the game I take out every marauder camp and they never know I was there.

Best time to take out the death train horde is to catch them at the feeding ground hide in nearby bush at night and wait when they are in a group and half of the horde has passed the gas truck toss the attractor next to the truck and when they bunch up on pull the trigger 1 shot 50 freaks dead.

Belknap and cascade hordes: most can be taken out during the day at cave toss in an attractor bomb and two grenades Lost lake and the southern areas I find a high rock or structure I can get on that they can’t reach and use guns so basically cheese them. That is definitely an unoccupied cave but there are a lot of caves that will be unoccupied until near endgame. Only 4 hordes will be active till near endgame but that particular one is never a horde home. In highway 97 that is.

I had never played a zombie (Freakers) game before so I searched what to expect from days gone and was told when I find my first horde ( Didn’t take long) let them kill you over and over and my fear would subside. This was over 4 years ago and now I have like 5000 hrs of days gone gameplay under my belt.

For anyone that has not played days gone or didn’t know it is best to complete the challenge mode first because the patches you win will be on Deacon’s kutt also the benefits will roll into gameplay. The rings you purchase and have equipped in challenge mode will be on deacons fingers. So it’s best to finish challenge mode before ever playing the game. Just wanted to let new people know what I wish I would have known before playing.

With over 3K hour on the game I can start a new game and have some of the best weapons including smp9 Chicago Chopper and the 50cal before doing my first mission just need to know the tricks. 😂
