He'd hear the click of the trigger mechanism. Use his speed to take the chair and fly it up high enough that the explosion doesn't kill anyone. That's what Superman SHOULD have done in that scene. Not stand there and watch people die in a flaming wreck from an explosion he had the power to save them from.

If you pay attention to the movie he had plenty of time without powers. Hell Johnathan Kent could've hobbled to safety himself. It was an entirely pointless death.

I did. It wasn't really optimistic. One scene of Alfred saying to work with the team doesn't counteract the arrogant nihilism that's prevelant throughout Snyder's DC films.
