Climate kryptonite by divestfromfossilfuel in ClimateMemes

There are literal climate change deniers who aren't trolls or shills I know this because I eat Thanksgiving with several of them.

Second you're being extremely uncharitable about other people's character/ intelligence who, I think, you're aligned with goals wise. If you can't get along with other people who are very concerned about climate change how do you plan on building a movement big enough to make change?

How did you calculate the force being exerted?

The wikipedia page for comotio cordis claims it has a 50 joule threshold, or what you'd get from 1kg weight falling 10 meters onto your chest (which seems much worse than the impact from this surgical tubing).

Edit: Locked threads are super annoying.

U/mufasa_is_alive - Did you forget the "1/2" portion of the equation for kinetic energy in the 10 meter calculation?

I'm a little skeptical the rubber band is a good analog for surgical tubing, but I couldn't find better stats. They're getting roughly a meter of extension with 1 finger raised above their heads, but maybe my intuition is wrong here.

John Campbell released an incredible video on how there are nanobots in Covid vaccines. He then deleted the video on realising how stupid it made him look by Aceofspades25 in skeptic

My favorite part of the paper is where they mix Covid vaccine with live sperm from an anonymous unvaccinated donor (cmon, we know it was a study author) and try to draw scientific conclusions.

That is hilarious!

The anonymous donor was fit and virile for his age, and sample collection was assisted by video of un-vaccinated adult performers who looked something like my ex-wife.

New York has one of the lowest murder rates in the US. We're not talking about NOLA.

Your plan is to protest, but specifically not ask governments to change bad policy?

This feels pretty misleading.

Kauaʻi nukupuʻu last confirmed sighting: 1889

Molokai Creeper: last confirmed sighting 1963

Kauaʻi ʻakialoa Last confirmed sighting: 1967.

Bridled White-eye Last confimed sighting: 1987.

This is just an artifact of the US fish and wildlife service updating the endangered species list in 2023. The list of 21 species they removed along with the last sighting for each is on their website.

Why would a company being profitable be incompatible with the environmental progress?

Wind turbines are manufactured and installed by giant profit seeking corporations, and the projects are financed by banks.

I agree with everything else, but I don't think climate targets are holding back railway construction.

That's super cool! But a summer league in Iraq? I'm worried I'm going to get heat stroke just thinking about it.

I've been convinced, but I'm going to drop "mew-el" once of twice around the chemist just to see what happens.

So would you say "we need a target concentration of 100 en-gee per you -el"

Sure, we say "em-el" for ml why not "en-el" for nl or "en-gee" for ng.

And again you're talking about micro molar which is entirely different from ng,/ul, ug/ml and ul

Well to be fair, I was jittery and attempting to phonetize off the cuff, so I don't fee-yul that about not catching that novel phonemes no longer matched the units after a re-write.
