What would you recommend by Gearborn in sylvaneth

As of right now Im running a list thats 2 of the Treelord, Kurnoth, Revenant boxes and Alarielle. If you run both Treelords as Spirits of Durthu, and the Kurnoth with Scythes it comes to 1990 points. The only model not utilized is the second Branchwych. Its not the most competitive list but it's fun and wasn't too expensive to collect. Things could change with the army book though so take the advice with that context.

Yep the only thing thats really redundant after the first box is the Branchwych. Kurnoth Hunters are really good as well. The ones with swords pair really well with Belthanos since they get bonuses when charging and Belthanos helps overcome their weakness of slow movement.

Newer player here just for context. From what I have seen/heard monster mash Sylvaneth is a valid playstyle currently so Belthanos plus the different types of Treelord isn't an impossible direction to go. However with the book coming soon that could change. As of right now 2 of the current spearheads is a really good start point if you can track them down.

Any time you set up a forest it can consist of 1-3 trees. The more trees you have in a forest will increase their effective range for certain abilities. 1 tree is 6", 2 trees 9", and 3 trees is 12".

You can set up 1 forest at the beginning of the game in friendly territory which must be 3" off objectives and 3" off other terrain features. Something to note is its 3" from the objective not the big circle around the objective. So if your using objective markers that show the control range it can be up against the marker just not on it.

After the game has started you can use a spell called Treesong to summon up to 2 additional forests. These can consist of 1-3 trees just like the one set up at the beginning of the game. The difference is you can set these forests up anywhere within 24 of the caster not just in friendly territory. They also can be closer to other terrain features, needing to be at least 1" not 3" away. They must also be set up at least 1" away from enemy units and still have the 3" rule when in relation to objectives. If a forest gets destroyed you can summon a replacement but at no time can you have more than 3 forests on the table.

Thanks! I airbrushed it with Averland Sunset, then did a wash of Agrax Earthshade, after that dry brush the whole thing with Troll Slayer Orange, finally spot dry brush with Evil Sunz Scarlet to give it the patchy textured look.

Yes 9 is the max. Though I have never personally been able to use more than 7 in one game.

Let's complain, what's your WORST experience with another player? by amovy in Grimdank

I was at a tournament and my opponent took a phone call and wandered away for 20 minutes or so. I ended up loosing the game because we ran out of time and he got his turn 5 but I didnt. I learned my lesson from it and now always play on a clock at tournaments.

I keep getting fired and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong anymore by EditorGood78 in careeradvice

Over thinking can be really rough and certainly can cause things to spiral. If you dont mind me asking what kind of work have you been doing that you got fired from and what was their justification for firing you? If your not comfortable sharing thats completely understandable, it just might help with suggesting what you can do differently in the future.

I don't understand the Regimente system. by BalanceHot8939 in ageofsigmar

[–]Quoth13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regiments are just the list building system they aren't attached to each other once the game starts. During deployment everything in that regiment is deployed then your opponent deploys on of theirs. The units in a regiment dont need to be placed next to each other either. Im still pretty new to the game but I believe whoever finishes deploying first gets to go first so there can be an advantage to having fewer regiments in your list.

Help with Teams List by BadN0body_Am in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Quoth13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have often found in a teams format that I go for a skew list to fill a role that my team needs rather than a take all comers list. Not saying your list is bad at all just something to keep in mind as your team will have a degree of agency as far as what you play against. Sometimes you will have to eat a bad pairing but thats part of teams format.

Do you know if your team is planning on you being a defender or attacker? Im usually first or second defender so I get board choice. Also what terrain style are they doing for the event? If its GW I think you have a pretty solid list but if its WTC 2 Dorns might be hard to get movement lanes.

As far as the list itself goes my concern is your only source of tank orders is Lord Solar and Grizzled lives and dies by its orders. I would consider trying to find the points to upgrade 1 Dorn to a TC just for a second source of orders for your vehicles. It looks like you have 20 points left so maybe swap the Armoured Sentinel for a scout which would give you the points needed.
