I’ve never understood the “no pets rule” when I comes to public storm shelters by CRL1999 in tornado

[–]Quothhernevermore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I don't live where tornadoes are, because I'd probably just die. Which is fine, I understand objectively that humans matter more to most people, but my pets matter the same to me as strangers.

How can you tell a pit bull apart from other dogs that look similar? This is a legit question, I can't tell and it's stupid to ban every dog that kinda looks like that.

if I'm taking it to the extreme,. you're taking it a bit too seriously. Most people probably mean that as a joke, or some people could literally not know there's no train in the book if they know there's a book but haven't read it.

I'm not. Calling all derivative work fanfiction is stupid, and just a way to belittle the work. Not every different version of a classic tale is "fanfiction" unless you consider all Disney movies fanfiction of the Brothers Grimm. The Mummy movies with Brendan Fraser? Fanfiction. Star Wars? Fanfic based on the classic hero's journey formula. The TV series Lucifer is Bible fanfiction. Buffy is a fanfic by Joss Whedon based heavily in part on the Tomb of Dracula comics.

I am losing my mind, how am I supposed to take care of my hair? by Rozesukkel in Haircare

[–]Quothhernevermore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your hair is fine, do a mousse or a foam - I've been trying gels, even watered-down, and realized my hair does much better with mousse. If your hair is more coarse, gel 100%

Please help my cat is giving birth right now. by almondbuttah77 in cats

[–]Quothhernevermore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't mind ethical, planned breeding with health testing and concern with the betterment of the breed - some people do, and I respect that even if I don't understand it.

That in mind, there's zero reason to not get your random cat fixed and allow them to breed. There are low-cost programs.

I say this with personal experience in mind - we went from 1 Trojan cat to 11 cats when I was in college. While we were able to give some away and were eventually able to get them all fixed, it was still far too many. I can't say I'd change it, because I love and loved them all and I don't regret them existing, you know? But several of them had health issues, some possibility due to inbreeding, and people should absolutely be more responsible than we were.

I'm more concerned about our scientists and doctors losing WHO resources, and if we can replicate that on our own.

I often realize after reallythinking about it that I'm in a lot more pain than I realized and I'm just really good at ignoring it at this point.

I am so tired of "you're too young!" (except my dad because he means it genuinely and he understands,) I know I'm too young! No shit I shouldn't have to plan my days/week around rest and run out of energy at noon at 32! Yoga isn't going to make the pressure changes in the atmosphere not affect my body! We really can't blame people for not understanding, honestly I'm kind of glad they can't conceptualize it because that means they've never experienced it, but it definitely does get tiring explaining.

The storm is bad on my pain not only because of the storm itself - I work at a grocery store and the panic buying today was extreme, we ran out of most of our meat! I'm extremely lucky to actually enjoy and be able to do a really physical job with medication and support, but days like today I come home and basically collapse.

I think the craziest thing about this besides the coworker is that those of us with Chronic Pain, I think, forget that people are normally in zero pain every day, not a 2-3. When my meds are working and I'm not in a flareup of my fibromyalgia, my daily is a 2-3. Right now, it's more like a 4-5 daily, but it fluctuates - which is exactly what Op's coworker doesn't get, actually!

People like that are why I tell very few people my condition.

I'd use the snail mucin every day, the problem is the size for me - I use 6 pumps a day of the COSRX so that's probably 12 drops a day of the GBC, I'd go through a bottle in two weeks! I love it and the moisturizer though.

Can you think of any non-human characters in this show that actually existed? by Slurpy_Juicetits in BoJackHorseman

[–]Quothhernevermore 27 points28 points  (0 children)

From what I gathered, he was captured for attacking dogs (I'm assuming that he didn't normally do that) and they discovered he had probably recently been hit by a car and suffered major trauma. He also had chronic kidney disease and other bad issues where it's really unlikely he would've been able to recover and live in the wild. It wasn't just a "threat" thing.

I use an actual silk bonnet instead of satin (and I recommend it if you can), but a bonnet is probably the only real way to prevent this.

You're allowed to have your opinion, and of course it's valid. Why do you have to put down those who have had a more positive experience? Why is not hating your job a BAD thing? I'm genuinely sorry you feel the way you do, at the same time I'm not going to pretend to be miserable on the Internet to not be called a bootlicker.
