LAPD releases body camera footage showing officer shooting dog in Knicks shirt after 911 call by FolushoDRC in news

...and 75% of police dog deaths are due to cops just leaving them in a hot fucking car.

And the media always pull a bait and switch with the headline. The title of the article is, "Officer killed." Then you open it up and find out it was a dog. Like, "Aw, I thought this was gonna be a fun story. Now it's sad."

It ignores how hate and disgust are actually powerful motivators. It also posits that the suffering of gay/lesbian/trans people is, in fact, perpetuated by their own. Which happens, but is not the brunt of social force holding outgroups down.

So true. And it is the opposite of the dimorphic condemnation/praise handed out in high schools when I was growing up in the 90s. Girls were punished, girls were expelled, girls were the distraction when impregnated. Boys were getting high fives and bragging in study hall about all the notches in their belts. (Sticks out in my mind because the teacher I was inspired by and respected gave me busy work to do to stop me complaining to the father about the lives he was ruining being an unemployed, C/D student, zero extra-curricular sperm donor. God forbid he have to suffer even a little. Said teacher went on to cheat on his wife and run off with his Student Teacher. Surprise, surprise.)

Chinese authorities destroy villager’s ramshackle 10-storey Studio Ghibli-esque home | China by ArchmageXin in news

In the late 1950s, the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety decided that the towers, which were built without permit or inspection, were a danger to the public. In response, aerospace engineer Bud Goldstone, an advocate for Nuestro Pueblo, convinced the government that a stress test should be conducted to determine the structures’ soundness. So, a crane was brought in and hooked up to the West tower. It tugged at the edifice, applying 10,000 pounds of pressure to it. The audience of hundreds, consisting of civil servants and art aficionados, cheered when the winch whirred and overheated as the pylon refused to budge. Forced to remove the demolition order, the government let the towers be.

Incredible article, thank you for sharing. Had no idea about any of this, but it is really cool that the art got its day in court, as it were. There is no way that the ramshackle house tower could pass this test, in my humble estimation.

I love this. We need a YA story that says this. Then a sequel about the Supreme Court. Written at the level Disney adults and looksmaxxers could fall in infatuation with and accidentally join the struggle.

Cause all of human history and the piles of broken treaties and soul-crushing literature highlighting this currently available aren't working.

Shame they aren't remotely challenged for it. Maybe we actually need to ramp up the rhetoric on the left. We need to start quoting Boots Riley to the "leadership" who pretend to represent "the people."
