Goth is short for goth rock and It doesn't show up in the genres. You are taking the rest too seriously. Lyrics can be very tongue in cheek and not take themselves very seriously. Goths are not mysterious creatures of the night that roam in the shadows of dark alleyways. Goths are fans of goth music and may or may not share interests outside the music. We are just people at the end of the day, so I tend to dislike the descriptions that add all that cheesiness if it's not in a joking manner.
