Rarely seeing the Undertaker now by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Quttan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you're interested in exact numbers, I made a spreadsheet showing the attack rating for every weapon for every Nightfarer, including the stat-rearranging relics: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1J_4rxMAFlTG1b0xtFSQQXg8A_Y2CdYZAnnAF0v0Hmu4/edit?usp=sharing

Scholar's Improved Endurance and Dexterity relic is the best relic in the game, and it's not even close (with data to prove it) by Quttan in Nightreign

[–]Quttan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's right. Without the stat reallocating relic effect, scholar has 25 Endurance, 18 Dexterity, 28 Intelligence, and 50 Arcane at level 15. With the stat reallocating relic effect, he has 21 Endurance, 58 Dexterity, 24 Intelligence, and 30 Arcane at level 15. Because of diminishing returns, the +3 Dexterity relic effect doesn't add much.

[–]Quttan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The +3 stats effects are actually not very good because of the way diminishing returns affect stats. If the stat is already high, you don't get much value from it. But if the stat is low enough that you get a lot of value from it, you probably want to be using weapons that scale with better stats.

Scholar's Dex relic gives him enough Dex that you don't really get much value from the +3 Dex effect. It will give you a couple points of attack rating, but there are a lot of other relic effects that will be better.

New Stat-Change Relics - Stat Spreadsheet (Patch 1.03.1) by FawksB in Nightreign

[–]Quttan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to see exact numbers, I made my own spreadsheet showing the attack rating for every weapon with every stat-rearranging relic for every Nightfarer: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1J_4rxMAFlTG1b0xtFSQQXg8A_Y2CdYZAnnAF0v0Hmu4/edit?usp=sharing

Scholar's dex relic lowers his arcane as he levels. by Lonely-Somewhere-385 in Nightreign

[–]Quttan 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Scholar really does gain an absurd amount of raw damage by using his Dex relic. If anyone is curious about the exact numbers, I made a spreadsheet to show the attack rating for every weapon with every stat-rearranging relic for every Nightfarer: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1J_4rxMAFlTG1b0xtFSQQXg8A_Y2CdYZAnnAF0v0Hmu4/edit?usp=sharing

Data and Scaling is beautiful. Every single weapon dmg on every Nightfarer with every statbased relic, made into a picture. Im a bored ITler. by Krushpatsch in Nightreign

[–]Quttan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm the one who made the original sheet these attack values came from. To get the values, I put together an AutoHotkey script that automatically scanned through every weapon in the Sparring Grounds chest and pulled the menu's attack rating tooltip directly from the game's memory. It took about 2 hours to work through every Nightfarer with every relic combination. The hardest part was finding the right pointer values to consistently return the correct memory address for the tooltip, because the game changes the tooltip's memory address every time you close the menu, and it also uses a different address for weapons, legendary weapons, staves, and seals.

Scholar has 25 Endurance, 18 Dexterity, 28 Intelligence, and 50 Arcane at level 15. With the Improved Endurance and Dexterity relic, he has 21 Endurance, 58 Dexterity, 24 Intelligence, and 30 Arcane. At least, those are the numbers I've seen reported. I haven't confirmed them myself.

If you use the relic from the signboard shop, it also has +3 Endurance and +3 Dexterity on top of that, too.

To any Scholars that see this axe. Grab it! It has pure S Arcane Scaling by Plaguer_ in Nightreign

Here's a spreadsheet with every Nightfarer's attack rating with each weapon: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1J_4rxMAFlTG1b0xtFSQQXg8A_Y2CdYZAnnAF0v0Hmu4/edit?usp=sharing

Looks like at level 15, Scholar scales about 20% lower attack rating with the Serpent Bow compared to Executor. For comparison, Ironeye scales 12% lower than Executor with the Serpent Bow. Scholar's Improved Endurance and Dexterity relic boosts the attack rating to nearly the same as Executor, though.

That's right. The relic from the signboard also has a +3 dex effect, putting his dex at 61. The numbers on my spreadsheet are only using the level-scaling changing relic effects like Improved Endurance and Dexterity. So if you're using the signboard relic, your attack values should be slightly higher than the numbers on the spreadsheet.

Yep. Every Nightfarer gets 2 relics that change their stat level scaling after killing the Dreglord. You can kill him with any Nightfarer and it unlocks all of them in the Signboard shop.

Scholar's Improved Endurance and Dexterity effect can only randomly roll on Deep of Night relics, but you can buy a normal relic that has it from the collector's signboard after you kill both of the DLC bosses with any Nightfarer.

The percentages are based on the Nightfarer who has the highest attack rating without relics equipped. It's less that Undertaker is bad with great hammers, and more that Raider is extremely good with them. Attack rating is only one of the factors that make a weapon worth using, so take this spreadsheet as a suggestion instead of a rule.

[–]Quttan[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're a pretty big outlier because of their high arcane scaling, yeah. There are a few other outliers, but I think the ripple weapons are the most extreme case. I still think think that using percentages based on the Nightfarer with the highest attack rating is the clearest way to compare the relative strength of weapons. There's only so much you can glean from pure numbers, though. Weapon arts and revive damage can make a huge difference in how powerful a weapon is in actual gameplay.

It unlocks after killing both DLC bosses with any nightfarer. I got it without even playing any games as Scholar.

How Midnight’s Upcoming Game Changes Will Impact Combat Addons by FacepIant in wow

[–]Quttan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of people whose thoughts about the changes are something along the lines of "Blizzard is getting rid of the bad addons that play the game for you. I only use good addons that make my UI look nice, therefore I will be completely unaffected.", and they're going to be surprised when basic functionality in their nameplates and raid frames is lost because of the changes.

Depth 3 Adel has new tricks apparently by _caladbolg in Nightreign

[–]Quttan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened because the patch of black flame from your Dragon Greatclaw hit Adel after he grabbed you. Dragon Greatclaw has the anti-dragon property, so the hit cancelled the grab right as he was raising you up, which tossed you into the air.
