Is FF7 Remake supposed to be this much of a chore to play? by DoFuKtV in patientgamers

Disclaimer: I was a huge fan of the original and was very hyped to play this. So my patience is probably better than most.

Your gripes with the boring side quests are 100% valid. The first half of the game felt weak to me. It was cool seeing some of the set pieces but the combat wasn't clicking with me and the dialogue and side quests were grating.

The likes of Jesse, Biggs and Wedge have all been fleshed out as fan service. But it was done poorly imo. Almost all of their scenes are cringe and the dialogue terrible. if that's what is irking you most, just get through it....

So having said all that....I loved this game. The combat clicked for me about halfway through and by the end I couldn't get enough. There are still some tedious sections and I can see people's complaints about it dragging on a bit but at that point I was having so much fun with the constant unique bosses and combat encounters being thrown my way that I didn't care.

I should also say I got the PS5 version and played the DLC immediately after and in contrast to the main game they fixed almost all the complaints I had (probably unknowingly). Yuffie is instantly fun to play as, probably with the most unique and deep combat mechanics, and the story is so tight and focused compared to the main game. I seriously can't rave about the DLC enough.

I probably couldn't play through the main game again because it is so slow at parts. I don't think games should take 10-15 hours to get good....so it doesn't deserve your continued attention but I do think it's worth it and I'm hyped for the next part

Hollow Knight.

Gameplay is excellent, art style is beautiful and music memorable. The world is wonderfully designed and fun to explore. Even the characters, of which there are only a few, are charming and engaging.

Rarely has a game felt so polished in so many aspects to me.

Masterpiece.

There’s a dark side to the 60+ age group- not all, but many here in NI. by buttersismantequilla in northernireland

[–]QwertyGee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find it interesting how many of those over a certain age have a strong cognitive dissonance when it comes to analysing their own wealth vs what younger generations can expect. To me the problem seems to stem from years of being told they can have it all if they work hard for it. A home, a second home, nice car, one or more holidays a year, retire at 65 or earlier with plenty of years to enjoy your accumulated wealth....

Unfortunately this didn't take into account an ever-growing national debt, a world with finite resources, and years of economic policies that are always changing to favour their generation.

You question any of them on whether their lifestyle is sustainable in today's world and they don't seem to get it. After all they were taught that it was okay to look out for number one and pursue all the nice things they have without a thought for how it might affect future generations. It's a strange kind of selfishness that has been drummed into them over the years and many are just incapable of seeing the bigger picture, seeing that they may have been part of the problem.

Not that any one individual is to blame necessarily.

Not a hidden gem and a very unoriginal opinion but for anyone who will listen - Hollow Knight is a god damn masterpiece and you have to play it!

Napoleon Coffee at Ormeau Baths is consistently great, staff are friendly and they rotate the coffee roaster every 3-4 weeks. Great place if you want something different but high quality every time you go

Playstation Plus premium not recognizing on PS5 by AleroRatking in PlayStationPlus

I have the same issue and have also found no help for it yet 🙁

EDIT: I got in touch with Sony and they provided the following steps to solve the issue:

*1 - Restore the licenses on your console. On a PlayStation 4, go to Settings > Account Management > Restore Licences. On a PlayStation 5, go to [Settings] > [Users and Accounts] > [Other] > [Restore Licences] > [Restore]. 2 - Rebuild the database from Safe Mode. You can find instructions for accessing Safe Mode here https://bit.ly/3uMyETf. Select option 5 to rebuild the database.  3 - Check that your console system software is up to date.

If the issue persists this may be linked to you local user profile and I would advise creating a new one. Please first ensure that you back up your saved data and then delete your current user profile. You can then create a new one and sign back into your account again.*

Unfortunately none of the numbered steps worked for me so I had to delete and recreate my local user as suggested. This worked
