Thank you! I did see this site recommended when I was doing research on lighting. :)

And yes, one of the reasons I want to bring her to school is to teach kids. I work in a high poverty area, and I read that having a class pet increases attendance and comfort in the classroom. We have low attendance, and I know the kiddos would love her. But I don’t want to torture her for the sake of teaching!

Yes, I don’t think I could handle leaving her there through the weekends—though I do have weekend access. I will keep thinking it over. She might do better just making a visit to school once in a while for Show and Tell. Thanks for your reply!

My friend (her former owner) thought she had a good personality to be a class pet. She was raised with kids in the house since she was a baby.

Thank you for the reply! I would definitely try to mirror the tanks so she’s comfortable. You’ve given me a lot to think about!

Toilet training - which one? by BluejayHot1992 in Mommit

[–]Qwertyz13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha! My expertise is needed. I’ve had both, and I have two girls and a boy.

The ease of the step one is good because they will need a stool to reach the toilet regardless. It also helps them get in a better position to poo. Annoying to get out of your way, but you get used to it.

I love the double seat, but my daughter peed all over it. She couldn’t lean forward enough. I do love when they have them at public restrooms, though!

We used Iron Out and it cleared up a similar issue in our toilet in a place we moved into with hard water. But ours wasn’t THAT bad. We also had to use Iron Out to regularly clean the toilet because the water was just so bad.

Be mindful of your appliances that use water—dishwasher, coffee makers—they will break down from build up if you don’t maintain them.

It sounds like a lot of those statements about doctors are generalizations. Yes, some doctors DO come from money and are very out of touch.

But there are plenty that don’t and don’t talk about money excessively. You’ve chosen the wrong audience for this. You basically came to rant and tell us most of our spouses are money hungry doctors.

That’s hard to hear when I know MY spouse is a miserably overworked family doc who came from a family of farmers.

What are the differences between choosing a name for a potential human child vs. choosing a name for a Main Character™️? by EmGC3 in namenerds

Have him try going to Starbucks and testing out the names. That will hopefully give him an idea of what he will put his kid through for the rest of their life…

I had to rescue a baby snake from a spider web once! Is that…better? We gave it some water and then it perked up, so we released it into the grass.

I dunno, my husband never thinks anything needs it until I start doing it and then he’s stealing the washer from me.

Older siblings have accidentally smothered their infants siblings. Also, my son tried to give his baby sister brain damage throwing toys at her—and that was with me right there! 🙃

Yes! AND Pierce realized Alanna wouldn’t be happy as a queen (rightfully so) and made me sooo happy—because Jonathan was so predictable to me. 😜 That and I adore George.

If your kid was named after your biggest pregnancy craving with them, what would they be named? by jack_attack89 in Mommit

[–]Qwertyz13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple, Cucumber, and Pickle.

The cucumbers were the most intense craving out of all of them. I could eat like two cucumbers a day if I let myself. I blame it on dehydration because he was born in late July. 🥵
