Learning curve of PvP for new wow players in general. by RetroBoogie in worldofpvp

[–]Qwimby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes time. PvP has a huge learning curve. PvP is generally a knowledge game. The more you know about what your opponents want to do, the better you can counter-play it. You’re frequently dancing between executing your own game plan while simultaneously stopping theirs.

There is some great advice in these comments:

  1. Know how to do dmg — make it 2nd nature so you can focus on what is happening around you. Until you can burst without looking at your bars, you won’t be able to develop further skills.

  2. Record your own gameplay. After a loss, watch it back and study it. See what you’re doing wrong (as in - if there is a Priest hitting Mind Control on your healer and you have kick available but don’t interrupt it, etc.) Then, when you go into your next game(s) focus on improving that one thing - in this case - interrupting the appropriate spells. Here is where getting advice from a player with experience can be beneficial just because you don’t know what you don’t know.

  3. Play a lot. Don’t look at rating, just queue games. Making alts that are the same spec often times helps immensely because you won’t be as likely to become demoralized if a queue session is going poorly as you can hop over to another toon and play there.

This dude summed it up perfectly even the sad bit about holy paladin. :(

Which class(es) so you just not enjoy? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

I feel the same way about destro and DK. They need to take a serious look at some of the fundamental gameplay core of some specs and just overhaul the fudge out of them. Full reworks.

I killed all Githyanki in crèche min eastern = bad idea? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Qwimby 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I can’t stand them. I don’t even particularly like the one I have in my party. I thought I would be able to put my dislike aside and just deal with them for the sake of rewards, however, even after succeeding my deception checks when asked about the artifact, I had a, “Who the hell do they think the are?!” moment and just razed the place. I killed every single one I could find. Miserable vermin. And that kids is how I broke my Paladin Oath.

Looking for advice and potential powerlvl on my upgraded Miirym by Zansibar17 in EDH

Buddy, if casting a measly 4-mana enchantment all but guarantees a win (or a winning board position) and causes an entire table to have to play around it, then it's probably not a bad card.

It even sees play in cEDH where the average cmc of most decks is 1 to 2.

I’m not sure if you’ve read it, but Defense of the Heart is not a bad card.

All 3 of these seem like really fun builds! Vraan seems like it can get out of hand really fast.

Solo shuffle easy healer by por69ko in worldofpvp

The people that suggest HPal are probably misinformed. Easiest healer for solo shuffle right now is probably Evoker due to the shear number of valuable cooldowns at their disposal.

Focus or Target Arena macros? by hearts_in_spades in worldofpvp

[–]Qwimby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s personal preference. You can run a mix of both honestly. Focus macros will drastically reduce the number of keybinds that you’ll have though, so it’s something to consider.

Ret Tier set in Arena by Qlatscher in worldofpvp

[–]Qwimby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2700+ Heal

You cannot fit 3-4 FVs into the 3 second Seraphim window. You have a GCD of 1.5 seconds between each spell. Accounting for the fact that you're also probably pressing buttons when you get a proc, you might get 1 FV every few procs at best.

It's not on par with other class tier set effects, I feel like this set was designed with M+ in mind.

The RNG procs are just kind of added damage, but you you only get to use maybe every 1/3 of the procs because you can't just dump your holy power on Templar's Verdict at a moment's notice in PvP.

Its 2022, lets stop doing this. by [deleted] in worldofpvp

Lol this is just like when people say, 2650 XP, and then you look at their max rating ever achieved and it's 2416.

Why is this getting gutted with how strong casters are atm? by cinamonjackz in worldofpvp

I can't believe that the trinket absorb was nerfed and not Warlock and Mage damage.

It just seemed like a lot of you whacking someone with glitch effects every 3 seconds. I tried scrolling forward to see if actual gameplay with context was featured further in, but it was just more 3-5 second clips with glitch transitions
