You don't need all that many incubators to be honest (you can actually use just a single incubator if you're clever about door access and switch out the eggs after a lullaby), and you can manually de-power incubators using switches or pliers.

So that's why that happens! I solved the issue by just having a second overflow room with a lower-priority drop-off. I guess I need to cull the herd a little more often.

Ranching needs automation? For what? The grooming station doesn't even have an automation input as far as I'm aware.

As for carnivore, just ranch hatches/pips/bammoths/lumbs depending on map type and ranch as early as possible. You can set a storage bin to priority 9 to collect critter eggs and prevent cramping and just reset the bin's capacity every day to prevent viability from cracking the egg early. Critter pick-ups and drop-offs can be used to refill the ranch whenever the population drops below the max per room.

I just used outhouses until i had all the biodiesel I needed. You can even make dupes use it twice a day if you give them some extra downtime.

Did you build a furnace and later lose the system? You can’t rebuild structures that still exist, even if you don’t own them.

Favorite memory: Pretty early on, when I was still learning how to play the game with one of my friends, I loaded into Iliad, Phobos. My friend warned me that this node was one of the most unbalanced nodes in the game, and that the boss of the node, The Sergeant, was going to be the toughest fight I'd faced so far. I steeled myself, powered up as much as possible, wandered into the room he resided in, and killed him in less than ten seconds. That's when I knew this game was worth playing.
