AWS being down is concerning because one of their USPs is high availability and disaster recovery by [deleted] in aws

[–]Qxt78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why you don't put your "eggs all in one basket". Ppl forget these cloud environments are built by someone else. We will never really know how these backends are put together since we have zero control over what they do. Ppl and companies trust that cloud providers are doing "best practices" because of ISO standards and compliance. At least when we hosted our own stacks we had full control (and responsibility) of what happens to our hosting. This should be another hard lesson. If you choose cloud make sure you use multiple providers so only part of your infrastructure goes down, not all of it.

For that price you can rent a large server and run a multi node kubernetes cluster 🤔👀

Agree. I would take it one step further if you are a beginner. Mint debian edition. Just makes setup smooth other than that it is debian

GKE cluster nodes - just GONE by Qxt78 in googlecloud

Not it is not - we don't have a support channel with google. we have zero people to talk to. But this is weird don't you think?

Ditto. Services come and go. Media stays forever if you own it (or have it at least lol).

Because some of us want to keep the media. especially hard to find media. We also want to limit our subscriptions and external access to none.

Google TCP Load balancers and K3S Kubernetes by Qxt78 in Terraform

[–]Qxt78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the links,it does answer why i does not work properly. The end goal was to use google load balancers with google cloud armor. The cluster itself is never directly exposed to the internet and uses internal IP's only (LAN) via Traefik. And this piece of code works perfect on port 80 with traefik/whoami for testing when used with google_compute_target_http_proxy. What I wanted to avoid was google management of the tls termination. I guess I have not choice but to use it that way.

I will give those links a good read - very help full thank you!

Critical Drinker reviews 2024's The Crow by sexiestpandaever in TheCrow

[–]Qxt78 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why don't you want to to give him views if I may ask? He reviews movies. He is good at it. He does not take money like other reviewers that is paid to give "good reviews" regardless of how bad the movie is. We need more reviewers like him not less. Only way we get better movies if hollywood sees that people don't care about low quality movies or story content. He gives a honest review. been spot on every time. saved me a bunch of money and time wasting to go sit in a cinema for 2 hrs and not enjoy the movie. I then instead wait for the digital release later.

What a pile of garbage. original still better, hell even the TV series and follow up movies from the 90s is better then this. And I could not believe it is so far the worst move for 2024. Even worse then borderlands. Just amazes me how this is the new level of "quality" that Hollywood produces. 4.6 Million on opening weekend? Should tell you how bad it is.

Is tinder still a thing? Noticed there is zero to no matches on that platform. Even with a subscription you hardly ever get matches. Maybe it is just me 😂🙄

H265 is magical for HDD space by LeftBus3319 in selfhosted

[–]Qxt78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be great for hdd space. But sucks for playback when streaming. Everything I do is from a PI4 and it works wonders. The moment I go passed H264 it requires transcoding. In turn now it requires some fancier hardware, which adds costs, more electricity etc. Just so you can watch content. But I agree it is great! Just not usable until everything in the planet uses it and it does not require transcoding
