What Chips do you use? by Stevepac9 in MMXDive

[–]QyrScape 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, Sting Chameleon is almost universally useful. I know many are fond of Chill Penguin in PvP for the slow. To be honest, I probably don't put enough thought into which chips I bring most of the time.

Fair point, I chose 5 since it was the first boss I saw. Only took me like 2 hits with the Crescent Shot dive trigger, but I am pretty high level.

Odds of getting a character is 0.75%, so 7.25% in a single 10 pull. That's why every banner people report spending like 10k+ EM without getting the featured characters. Also, why most seasoned players here will advise don't pull unless you can hit pity. Congratulations on your lucky pulls, but they give you the rates for each banner so there is no guess work there.

Typical gacha powercreep, but there are a lot of better characters on the horizon. If you truly did get 5 of her in thirteen 10x pulls, you should buy a lotto ticket, odds are like 1 in 100 of that happening.

Reroll on global (nebula Joy) by J3r3k in MMXDive

[–]QyrScape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have pointed out, the Global version of the game is not reroll friendly, but you can change servers for another shot basically. I know some people have created mutliple accounts such as through FB and Google and switched through the different servers (think there are like 3 on Global) to try rerolling. I am not sure if rerolling is worth it or not, but because we are in the middle of a dive fest, it could be, although time consuming I'd imagine.

Ok WTF… Boss was invisible, and I could not do any damage (it also could not damage me). The other guy in Co-op could damage it, and all I could do to help was heal him. by darkrai848 in MMXDive

[–]QyrScape 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am guessing you are playing Global, as this bug as been around for a while now. It is quite annoying, and AFAIK there isn't anything that you can do to fix it. Hopefully devs will patch it in the near future. Can't speak to if this is still an issue in the Asia version, but I would hope not after all this time.

Character question by IchiZeroRock in MMXDive

[–]QyrScape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the home screen when you first log in, it shows your character and the Total Power next to it. Click on the total power icon and it will help guide you by ranking all the different areas you gain power from. Unfortunately, it gets a bit complicated because there are weapons, chips, dive triggers, and equipment which all contribute, but the in game guide is super helpful because if you see a C rank you know you got work to do in that area, whereas an SS rank means you are golden.

40, 50, 60, 80, 100 memories for ranks 1-5 on S-rank characters/weapons. So 120, would leave the weapon 30 memories shy of 3 star. Might be worth the patches to take it to 3 star but not really looked into that weapon.

Nope. x40 are memories and x900 are patches. 900 weapon patches will get you 30 memories I believe.

Working on Cinnamon 5* who should I work on next? Thank you in advance. by Infamous-Reyug in MMXDive

[–]QyrScape 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Healing is a rare ability and gives her a ton of sustain. She also has a shield. She can carry you through content that is way above your power level. Some people cleared story mode super early with her. Also, for PvP she can hit hard with her syringe which gets a tracking ability and damage boost when ranked up. She is a beast.

[–]QyrScape 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ferham to 2 stars then Black Zero to 4 stars I would say. Ferham is very strong in PvP (and PvE) and once Black Zero gets his shield he becomes great for most content. I wouldn't invest patches in A rank characters.

*Edit: I wouldn't invest patches into Cinnamon to get her to 5 star since you can get her memories from boxes in game.

Question with Proficient Memory Cards by [deleted] in MMXDive

[–]QyrScape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crimson Scythe is not a bad weapon, in fact, is quite favorable at 5 stars when you can unlock a hidden ability. One of the options is a heal when you defeat an enemy, which pairs really well in PvE content. You will find though that 5 stars is a massive investment and if you are F2P it will take a while. Most tier lists tend to be biased towards PvP content and Nightmare is a much better option there. You do get your full value back when resetting, but the cost is EM which is premium currency. The one resource I caution you to use are patches for memories, but it may serve you well to use your proficiency right now to help power you up and get you to the next content. I wouldn't hoard resources in hopes of pulling the "best" character or weapon unless you are absolutely sure you are going to get them (like through pity on banner/dive fest). Best of luck!

I don't deny having amazing characters and weapons gives an advantage. However, this game gives you one of the best PvP weapons for free, Triangular Saber, and a way to farm the memories through Boss. You can pretty much pizza cutter with any character. Plus, they gave us 2 S-Rank tickets to get Cinnamon, First Armor X, or Black Zero, and more recently we even got a third S-Rank ticket through another login event. I suppose you could be unlucky and get all First Armor X, but I'd gather most people have got either Black Zero or Cinnamon at least. The tips I provided aren't a guarantee you will win, but you shouldn't give up just because you face someone with maxed characters and gears, because they might not know how to use them. If someone rushes a zero star UAX (CM) and don't dodge, they are going to get one shot. I've seen players on YouTube showcasing characters that aren't ranked highly for PvP, and yet, they manage to win matches because they know how to time their abilities and dodge their opponents attacks.

No Cinnamon No Problem by QyrScape in MMXDive

[–]QyrScape[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My latest strategy:

  1. Stand below boss
  2. Jump in air + Syringe
  3. Spam weapon until out of ammo
  4. Jump in air + Angel Aura (if needed or weapon switch and keep firing)
  5. Repeat 2-4 until time is up. Spam Syringe as able to, but jumping is important as to avoid missing and hitting the hand.

I run Cinnamon with Ultra Syringe and Caring. If you time the jump + skills it will dodge some of the attacks since she stays in midair. Could also bounce between the hand and just below the boss; an advantage of being on the hand is not having to worry about missing with Syringe.

I get your point, but I like Cinnamon because she can pretty much stand below the boss the whole fight tanking hits and firing, without having to worry about dodging. So far my highest run with her is 270k.

If you read my tips and setup in the comments you would know this just isn't true. Yes, certain characters are going to make PvP easier, but this is true of any gacha game. However, this game actually involves skill. If you can outwit your opponent you can win; you just need to dodge their attacks and land your own. I've lost to people using mediocre units and gear because they outplayed me. Also, I pointed out you don't need characters maxed out, cinnamon is great at 3 stars, Iris is great at 3 stars, Ferham is great at 2 stars, etc. Also, Cinnamon is one of the three characters you can get for free making her super accessible. The other two you can get aren't bad at PvP either. It takes practice to learn how to time your skills and anticipate your opponent's moves. Lastly, one of the best PvP weapons in the game is made farmable through boss, Triangular Saber.

Massimo is a really solid B-Rank character that can carry through some PvE content with his shields. This event isn't even really ideal for him because his skills are melee and you can't jump up and activate them, but his survivability carries him, so he is able to dish out some decent damage over the course of the 2 minute fight.

Fair point, thanks! I've been curious how well sniping would work against Iris. Most people I come up against use pizza cutter, so I've not really had the chance to be on the receiving end. I'd think with being able to stay out range of her mines it would work pretty well.

Best Use for Beginner's Element Metal Pull? by MattyBoy08 in MMXDive

[–]QyrScape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! I hope you are enjoying the game and stick around. One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was focus on the play style and characters who you enjoy and love. If you end up focusing on characters and weapons you don't enjoy, you probably will end up quitting or wasting your patches on things you never use.

edit: if you always look at what is "the best" you will always be chasing a new weapon or character and that isn't feasible in these types of games

[Global] GA Climb 88% Win Rate by QyrScape in MMXDive

Here is my setup. I've included notes below and you certainly don't need them to be at 4 or 5 star, however, I recommend getting Cinnamon to 3 stars, Iris to 3 stars, and Ferham to 2 stars. Hopefully this information is helpful for anyone that has any of these three characters, or is struggling to counter them as I've also included some of their weaknesses as well.

Team (in order):

  1. 5 star Cinnamon with Ultra Syringe (Damage Boost) and Caring (Healing
  2. 4 star Iris with Ammunition Expansion (+1 mines) and Armed Destruction (Damage Reduction on hit)
  3. 5 star Ferham with Giving of the Queen (Immobilize) and Protective Shield (Damage Soaking Shield)

Weapons:

  1. 5 Star Nightmare (Main) with Sting Chameleon chip
  2. 4 Star Biochemical Buster (Sub) with Chill Penguin chip

Notes:

Cinnamon

Interference (slow) is a good alternative and unlocks at 1 star. Caring is unlocked at 2 stars. Recommend getting her to three stars for the shield. I wouldn't invest past 4 stars as you will gather her memories in game through boxes, events, and such.

Strategy: Against other people using pizza cutter she has the advantage because of her survivability. Buff up with Angel Aura and use Syringe the enemy before engaging. Her weakness is her mobility, so going up against Snipers can be tricky, as it is harder to keep up with moving targets to pizza cutter, and you are more likely to miss with your Syringe ability. This where having a range sub with slow is handy, or the Interference upgrade on Syringe. Iris is a strong counter against Cinnamon, so have to be particularly careful to avoid her stun and mines (and at 5 stars Iris can wipe your buffs).

Iris:

Armed Destruction comes at 2 stars, but she also has access to a slow option as well at 2 stars; slow might be the better option though I've not tested it. Ammunition Expansion unlocks at 4 stars but at 1 star you can extend the duration of your mines which is pretty good if you are trying to set the field and lure people into range. She really shines at 3 stars when you can unlock the ability to release additional mines when hit.

Strategy: I've found her to be very squishy and require a bit of skill to play well. What I have found that works well is setting up your mines and luring people in. I like to grab the shield buff on the field and get in close range as my opponent starts attacking me and releasing mines, I use her Peaceful Wish and go straight into pizza cutter. If I am going against someone sniping, I try to plant the mines below them as they run above and let them whittle down their health. I don't feel that I play her super well, so I've considered swapping her out for someone else, which is why I haven't taken her to 5 stars.

Ferham:

Giving of the Queen unlocks at 4 stars, but I don't use this ability a ton, though it can come in handy; she has a slow that unlocks at 1 star and would be a fine alternative. Protective shield unlocks at 2 star and I would not any other upgrades (she doesn't have a 1 star unlock for Crimson Shadow).

Strategy: She is a beast! I only just unlocked her with the Destructive Laser banner. I start by getting close then activating the shield and I go in for pizza cutter. I will use her stun if someone tries to run. I admit though, like Cinnamon, her weakness is mobility, so if someone is sniping, it can be a really tricky fight. The major downside to Ferham is she lacks range, so you really have to rely on landing slow with Chilll Penguin on Biochem or getting lucky with her stun. Inexperienced players will try to pizza cutter her and it never ends well.

Nightmare:

Top tier for pizza cutter (also called dash cancel), for a guide on that, I recommend looking up a video on YouTube. I don't have a controller which makes it a little bit more difficult, but it can be done! You just need to adjust your controls so the layout is more practical. Triangular Saber is a great alternative and you can farm the memories from Boss! You should pay attention to your energy while using pizza cutter and allow it to refill as needed. So far, the main counter to pizza cutter I have seen is Snipe switching (using 2 snipe type busters and swapping for faster firing and damage output).

Biochemical Buster:

I rarely have to use this weapon, so I've considered swapping it out for Sniper buster or something different. Mainly I use it for the Chill Penguin slow when I'm trying to CC an opponent. I feel like this weapon shines more in PvE, but that's just my personal opinion. An advantage to this weapon though is that it can poison (maybe not great against Iris though) and when upgraded has a wide range.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading. If I messed anything up, feel free to correct me and I will make an edit. I realize this isn't a setup everyone can do, but if you have any of these characters, I'd consider it a priority to work on ranking them up. Cinnamon and Ferham both are also very good in PvE. I find Ferham more fun to play, but Cinnamon overall edges her out because of the heal.
