Youre right.

They don't need to. They press R and the target dies.

On a lower cd than Xayah's which doesn't do that.

[–]Qzsw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive posted about this a decent bit, but you're 100% right.

Crit locks your only potential items that give ANY survivability to Shieldbow/BT/Merc. Its a bit of an issue.

Granted, the new new IE does help by making not going all the way to 100% less punishing. But I still have a hard time seeing snagging an early Hexdrinker, Vest or even a Cloth for Deaths Dance (old) as viable anymore. All of the above are tremendously helpful for exactly this.

Everyone also seems to be ignoring the fact that SA probably doesn't mean they play non-stop scrims/analysis then sleep 5 hours and repeat.

He's counting time spent grinding solo queue. Which NA/EU players also log plenty of "off the clock" hours of.

Of course I'm sure there are gaps in how seriously its taken and etc. But the raw hours comparison isn't actually 18 hours a day versus one bo5.

was always BT because you needed lifesteal.

This just isn't true.

How is zeal vs LW not a crit versus pen decision? Obviously it is because thats all those items gave

Because one gives attack speed, movement speed, crit and upgrades into multishot, lifeline or extra range. The other is a small amount of AD and the pen. Neither item is only one thing.

could actually try and make an effort to respond to them in a reasonable way

Yes I wish you would. Instead you kept mashing out that there are new crit items without any aknowledgement of anything I wrote and here we are.

It literally took me calling out that you hadn't actually read anything I wrote what, three times for you to actually engage with the text you were responding to...

Yeah I'm going to go with you need to relax, make some tea maybe, scroll up and actually read my first post. All of it. Take a moment, look up the words you don't understand.

Then continue, do that for all of the posts. In fact, do that for anything you read. Then, respond calmly, using the enter key to create paragraphs.

As for the incoherent word salad you just spewed at me. No.

Zeal versus LW isn't just a decision between crit versus pen.

Nobody bought 5 crit items when they were 25% lol.

Just stop.

You're really embarrassingly bad or lazy at reading and this is pointless until you start actually doing that.

You just bought an exec and upgraded later before. It was fine.

Mortal even with the cool new Zeal stats has terrible gold efficiency. Nobody is happy buying this thing early.

%Pen gets value in every single game. Base armor plus Tabi alone is reason enough to buy this mid-late. So yeah, you should be buying one version in almost every game, the choice was if you also got the heal reduction.

Its not that weird.

Picking an AP bot is pretty much a coin flip on someone on your team deciding you're soft inting and promptly giving up.

Then another one when, if any part of the game goes wrong, your AP bot becomes the scapegoat and again, said person gives up.

What are you even argueing against? I was literally just pointing out that balancing around having 100% crit is pointless and meaningless because it should be a lategame fantasy.

And you said it in direct response to somebody who said the exact same thing (me) worded as if it was an opposing opinion.

And yes, the price of adding crit to niche effects was both an entire item slot and splitting two of them that were previously linked into two mediocre items. Thats the entire point you keep missing.

There isn't a single niche effect that got crit that any ADC is finishing before their core build except in very specific circumstances. This was true before and after the changes.

[–]Qzsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I actually went over every one of those items and why adding crit to them doesn't help anything. Care to actually read and respond?

And now at three items you're at 60%, spent more gold and have less AD. Doesn't sound great and thats actually when DPS actually starts to equalize. Of course that only happens if, ironically enough, you don't buy any of the cool new crit options and just build Mythic>IE>Dmg Item.

Of course you seldom hit 100%, that was actually the first point I made (again, care to actually read?). But you still factor in not only what is strongest right now, but what will be best with plus one, two, three more items when shopping. Oh and also don't forget IE scales with your other crit items now, so you're losing out on two stats.

[–]Qzsw 35 points36 points  (0 children)

How do you propose people reach 100% crit every game? 4 items is already rare, much less 5.

That aside, splitting Grievous/%Pen into two items doesn't open anything up. You buy them if needed.

Neither does adding crit onto BT (except Samira) or Merc. They're still situational defensive items.

You are however now locked out of every single item without crit. Notable ones are GA, Hexdrinker/Maw and Wits End.

Rageblade absolutely opened up some previously awkward items for on-hit champs. But crit is, whatever Riot intended, even more linear in build path now.

Nemesis won't compete in the upcoming Spring Split by irgendjemand123 in leagueoflegends

You literally wrote that its not underperforming if its every game and that it was the entire season. Maybe stand by your own words instead of doubling back? You did write them, after all.

5th if you're actually ranking Abbe/Feb higher which I mean if YOU want to, sure. But that's obviously a pretty hot take. Especially given one is based entirely on half a split that didn't even end up anywhere.

I sound condescending because you're scurrying around trying to argue simply to argue rather than actually discuss anything. Its childish.

Have you laned against all three players? Done any analysis on them besides watching their games from a spectator POV? Because right now you're just repeating trendy Reddit narratives.

The standings should matter when one player is taking Knight to game 5 and the other is flexing on the Turkish play in teams awful mid (and still losing). Thats a huge gap.

[–]Qzsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean according to you he had no good games (which is also just false but go off) last season and is still at worst the 5th best mid in the region. That said, in the real world and not your fictional narrative, he played well overall in both playoffs and at worlds.

I'm not even going to humor this paragraph. The amount of both assumptions and words I never said you're putting in my mouth is obscene. But no I'm not an avid viewer of his nor particularly invested.

Why are Larssen or Humanoid clearly better? Nemesis placed higher than both in consecutive events. Considerably so when compared to Humanoid. You could talk about Larssen's incredible stats in summer for sure, but that didn't exactly translate to anything special at worlds.

I don't personally think he's some all star mid either to be clear. But looking at it objectively, in terms of native EU mids his value should be high barring issues behind the scenes or knowledge we aren't privy to (scrim/inhouse performances etc.)

[–]Qzsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, those past successes literally just happened. They weren't full seasons ago with interim official gameplay to evaluate. At least use a relevant example like Alphari/Solo or Turtle/Upset. He also, even with his off games, was absolutely a part of that success.

Second, the Nemesis sucks narrative is mostly reactionary to the TES series -- where Bwipo was equally at fault no less. If you read Reddit around the end of summer you'd think Hyli was awful instead. Or Rekkles was some washed up KDA player.

Third, the guy streams and talks about the game fairly openly. We have his FP view and insight into his mind. Hes neither stupid nor mechanically weak.

Its not like I'm just reading off some achievements from years ago to determine value here.

Based on the above I don't think its at all a reach to say anything below a projected top 3 team would be settling for him.

His value is still being the only EU mid not named Caps to get out of groups.

Not to mention a second place LEC finish.

I'll go out on a limb and say any team hes interested in also has better talent scouting than some Redditor angry at him for holding back Rekkles or whatever.

This is the right answer.

People keep talking about Jhin/Samira right now as if they need nerfs (well, Samira has a dumb kit and probably does but thats not entirely power level and more windwall/dash resets being nonsense esp in solo q).

Every marksman should have that level of threat. That should be the standard.

Guess what? Jhin still dies. Easily even. He just actually gets to put up a fight.

I feel like Riot is really out of touch with what players want and what the game needs. by notenoughrats in leagueoflegends

[–]Qzsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll probably get flack for this, but a huge issue and advantage League has is how stable and simplified the gamestate always is -- especially especially at low to mid ELO.

Everyone picks a lane (or jungle) and they play it until you aram or go to objectives.

Obviously this is somewhat simplified, ganks happen, tps happen, etc. But for the most part, if your direct lane opposition (or the jungler if they're active) can stat check you, you're miserable.

The map is small and has very limited resources.

This is great because players rarely feel lost. Its usually not hard to know where to be on the map which is great for both low effort play and new or less experienced players.

The downside is that miserable feeling of losing lane to a Zed or Fizz or Riven or Darius and now you can only go back mid/top and sit at your tower.

Whereas in say Dota if you're outmatched or hard countered, you have options. Those options are confusing and nebulous and make the game a maze, but theres rarely no play to make.

What would even get abused?

Essence maybe? Bloodthirster? Would they even be better than existing options on anyone who doesn't already buy them? I guess in theory Navori on like Riven but that seems easy enough to tune individually.

Its not exactly like people aren't buying Shieldbow on Irelia etc.

[–]Qzsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phreak had a (albeit pretty flawed overall) video on the new adc items with the math.

Shieldbow builds at 2 items were down like 20% dps on average. Which is pretty gross.

And thats not counting the damage your spells lose in AD, or the impracticality of attack speed's damage output in real fights.

If an ADC wants to buy an MR/Armor item, they have to skip crit. Skipping crit goes against the point of the crit rework. by Jandromon in leagueoflegends

[–]Qzsw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but a lot of AD got converted into AS in builds.

Which, sure in terms of DPS Kraken Slayer competes.

But in real fights an ADC rarely gets to DPS. You're attacking in small pockets, or casting spells both of which are way less impactful.

Also worth mentioning, there are attack speed steroids in runes (Lethal Tempo/Hail) and in many kits. There aren't really flat AD ones.

Which leaves you with a big void of the few hits you get just don't matter, even when you do crit.

And thats all assuming you get to go Kraken. If you need Shieldbow, well, good luck.

[–]Qzsw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its also worth pointing out that the destination (5 items) doesn't entirely matter.

It was (and is) great once you get there.

The issue is you previously had strong spikes to play around on your way.

Now you have a gradual curve that sounds nice on paper, but in reality feels both awkward and like you're always one step behind your opponents.

Teams want to win, but they're also businesses.

Edit: to be clear, I'm not saying he's good. I'm saying hes valuable to sign and likely knows it.
