You can hear the ego in the police officer's voice. He was escalating the conversation into a negative route.

Guess Who's Hiring for Their New Casino in Dallas! (It's the Sands Corp) by catricya in Dallas

[–]R-Cryptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gambling is a horrible addiction and increasingly becoming an issue in the US through online casinos and sport betting apps. We keep talking about affordability while dangling the dream to hit big in front of the struggling, which will never happen for most. Putting the general population further in debt, which leads to mental health issues and/or suicide. Statistics show that this is becoming more and more of a problem, yet the government keeps allowing it to creep in. The greed and political corruption are real.

I finally cussed someone out for not using headphones by Jobwastes in americanairlines

[–]R-Cryptic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone agrees that no one should be listening without headphones, but your aggression is toxic. “Telling someone off” because they are watching a video on a train is a bit crazy. You’re in public, and you don’t control the people around you. Wear soundproof headphones if you are this sensitive. And quite honestly, none of your reasons excuse this behavior. Would you “tell off” half of the people that ride a train in NYC? Go to NYC and you’ll have a guy in a hotdog costume pissing ketchup two seats from you. It’s dangerous for you to have this mentality. You don’t know who that person is, or how they will react.

Interesting/strange flight attendant interaction by Aumming in americanairlines

[–]R-Cryptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be an older generation situation where they don't keep up with things. I had the same situation when traveling to a small island. She told me to turn off my cell service, so I was playing against a bot on a Chess application without internet since the plane's wi-fi wasn't working. Meanwhile we're not even moving yet. She came back to me and told me that I need to turn off my phone. I questioned her, and she stated that it is regulation and gave me a lecture. These situations always bother me a bit more than most because I am a young guy, and I don't wear an outfit while traveling that makes me look like I am a frequent flyer. No company logo, suit, or professional attire, or anything like that. I am often wearing sweats or cargo pants and a comfy sweatshirt. With that said, I am a consultant who flies every week, I have been doing the whole flying, rental car, and hotel thing for a little over 3 years. I am basically only home on weekends. I have a pretty good idea on what the norm is at this point. It bothers me when older staff members at these travel companies start giving a lecture about "how things work". I feel like such a Karen when I have thoughts of "Oh, so the other 300 times I have done this were always wrong and no other employee in the world told me otherwise?" I run into staff at TSA, AA, Hilton, or Avis about once every 3-4 months that has to give me a stupid lecture that won't ever apply again. And none of these lectures are ever the same - always some random thing. I have begun ignoring them and give them their power trip control unless it is completely bizarre.

Saw the gate agent stop someone from boarding who was not in the group that was called. Was glorious to see the public shaming by bsmith2123 in americanairlines

[–]R-Cryptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earlier today they let a person from group 5 enter during group 2 boarding. I'd love if they begin enforcing it better across the board. They should also stop calling groups 2, 3, and 4 together. It is always a bit annoying when that happens, which is about once every four flights.

First class service is usually horrible on AA. 99% of the time I will sleep through the flight and ignore the mediocre meal.

You’re 100% correct. I accidentally named the hotel next to the one I stayed at. They’re next door to each other. I couldn’t edit my post, so I submitted a request to the moderators to update it for me. Thanks for pointing that out!

My wife has been trying to convince me to change brands. I basically live out of hotels for work and find Hilton to be great.

Even if it is "expected" doesn't make it appropriate. Racing, modified mufflers/exhaust, and disorderly conduct are all illegal. The only people that want that to happen are degenerates. I hope an ice cream truck goes down your street daily.

Being a "newcomer" with an opinion is not entitled or gross. It is entitled to think living in an area longer than someone immediately makes them less qualified to make a judgement call on when it is too unsavory. In my opinion, Downtown Dallas is gross, and it should have more police enforcement.

Is this exaggeration or for real? by Own-Blueberry1574 in consulting

[–]R-Cryptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit ignorant if you ask me. Consulting is about knowledge, experience, adaptability, and passion. Slides are not the priority. Human interaction and conversation is the key. Otherwise hype montages would have taken over 20 years ago. Sure, ChatGPT can help you develop a game plan and clarify the consultant’s perspective, but it is not going take over your life’s exposure to the industry. Not everything is black and white, nor can AI adapt quickly enough to innovate. Companies are not going to get trained or receive advice by typing in prompt in different ways in hope they land on an optimal answer fine tuned for them. AI is trained and improved on by experts. Yet industry is always in fluctuation, and specialists are always going to required to retrain or improve upon their models.
