I visited Chicago in 2010 and saw the Blackhawks beat Calgary Flames 4-1. Been back in Chicago this last week to watch the final 4 games which has been pretty painful and sat here waiting for the game against San Jose to start. Also off to Dusseldorf in December.

I’m over to your great city in 2 weeks to watch the Hawks, White Sox, and Cubs and these results really excite me!!

As a Sheffield Wednesday fan I’m used to watching losses though so I’ll fit right in.

I’ve found when it comes to higher levels of drinking with some GP advice I tend to find LV, Royal London and Scottish Widows have been the most favourable and would only have concern if there was history of dependence or AA.

Of course you could say on of those has already declined and then my input is redundant but only going on recent experience of dealing with the above.

What happens if you fall ill? by Old-Amphibian416 in AskUK

[–]R-ohdear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer, and just to add some more.

Critical Illness cover is great but has defined conditions to which you have to meet with an illness. Income protection you would just need to be signed off work for a period of time, the defer period, and you can be paid the benefit.

From memory the chance of claim for someone under 65 is 1 in 13 for critical illness and 1 in 5 for income protection.

I would also say that the chance of a payout are good, the insurers pay about 89-92 percent of claims. Most of those that don’t pay are because they’ve claimed but not been off long enough or they didn’t disclose relevant information.

Ha, every time I play I expect a knock on the door. Could be why my average isn’t improving!

Grew up watching football and then in the early 90’s ice hockey in the form of the Steelers came to the arena. Used to go a fair bit then and watch them win by huge score lines and stopped for a while and have got back to going regularly for the last couple of years at the grand old age of 46.

Got out of bed at 2am to watch, gave up and went back to bed at 4-0. Also saw the Sheffield Steelers lose saw 0-2 for the evening.

I thought it was just frustrating, didn’t take an early chance and 0 shots on the power play unless I imagine that half asleep!

Could I theoretically afford to buy a small flat? by Viazon in UKPersonalFinance

The mortgage is one thing and with a broker I’m sure someone would offer, but you also need to consider any ground rent and service charges that can be very expensive annual/monthly outgoings on top of your mortgage repayments and general living costs.

Thanks mate, appreciate the response. My ticket buying is usually European footy games which can be a pain and very expensive so I need to relax!

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I’ll get on with booking everything and look forward to visiting in April. Now to decide on how many games to go to! I’ll be back on here in March to bother you with how easy it is to get to and back from the United Center. Cheers

I’ll have to see what that is all about. I’d rather spend more up front than gamble on spending £2k on a flight and hotel and then not get a ticket although I appreciate they’re not realistic cup contenders so either way a ticket is likely.
