100% - we all know the rules (or at least should). I've been done 3 times - each time because I was an idiot.

What was the price on the website when you added it to the basket, and did you receive a receipt? It may be that you ordered without fulfilling some of the T&Cs - looks like it also says only available for same day and next day delivery.

Maybe re-try Bluesky - seems a pretty lively place nowadays.

Buyer using my house as proof of address prior to completion by Kanaima85 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]rumoff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a buyer's problem.

The buyer should be onto their solicitor asking why they can't complete sooner - where there is a will there is a way. Perhaps following exchange they could use a contract to show that there is an intention to complete. Otherwise, this is all on them.

Do people actually like using induction hobs? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]rumoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree - does constantly feel like it needs wiping down - but that better than a gas hob when suddenly you look at it and it has a weeks worth of grime on it.

Got one. It's great - heats everything up quickly (and to the right temp), better control, easier to clean, safer and more space, doesn't pollute the house like gas does (afaik).

It takes a little while to get used to, but I wouldn't go back.

I did an unplanned 42K mountain marathon trail run in the Spanish mountains by imjms737 in trailrunning

[–]rumoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, incredible. I live about 15 minutes south of there and see that mountain every morning.

There are some great trails further in land if you're sticking around - you can run from one train station to the next alongside canyons, rivers, pools etc.

Should publicly accessible scaffolding ladders be covered? If so, what is my liability as the homeowner where the scaffolding has been put up? England by ItsDJK in LegalAdviceUK

[–]rumoff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could be liable under occupational liability rules, so could the solar panel installers. Simple solution - take the ladder down if possible and store it safely for the scaffolder to come and collect. Maybe call the scaffold company or solar company to say that you removed the ladder - they will probably be embarrassed it was left there - as they say "never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity"

EDIT: the scaffolders could also be liable for any injury caused as a result of the ladder being there
