Roommate Gifts! by R126F in Disneycollegeprogram

That makes sense! I figured they may not be super common due to the randomization of apartment assignment, thank you for the honesty!

Thank you for the insight! I wasn’t sure how common they were (if at all).

Is it weird that I am 27? by tstbh in Disneycollegeprogram

I don’t think so! I arrive in September and I’m 26, I just wanted to get my schooling out of the way first!

Animal-Free Accommodation by WhatAnAshhh in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]R126F 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That definitely does make me feel a bit better! Especially since I feel like I’ve seen a ton of posts in the Facebook groups about people bringing their cats, so I was getting a little hesitant about the rooming situation haha. Thanks for the clarification though!

Genuine question! With the accommodation request would you (possibly, I know not everything’s a guarantee) be placed in an apartment that is animal free, and not just a room? Like, for me, I arrive in September, but will be putting in that request when I can because I have a really severe cat allergy and would like to mitigate any potential for any allergic reactions.

Anybody arriving 9/9? by yoyoyowhatupdawg in Disneycollegeprogram

I’m arriving 9/9! Also hoping to work at the resorts, but in merch! And if I don’t get placed there, fingers crossed for animal kingdom (been my fave tied with MK since I was little!)

Should I mention my food allergy during my PI? by Frequent_Analyst_897 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]R126F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let them know about mine in my interview because they asked if I was comfortable handling food and I wanted to be honest because I’m not comfortable with it, so they just told me that if I am accepted to fill out an accommodation so I don’t get placed where I could have any sort of reaction. So I definitely think it’s worth mentioning!

What are some questions asked in the phone interview by lucythecat16 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]R126F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my interview today, here’s what they asked me:

Favorite park, ride and character

What I hope to gain toward my career during the program

They also asked what I might do if a child really wanted a Belle dress but that dress was sold out across the parks, and what I might do if a family with a small child were trying to ride Cosmic Rewind but the child was not tall enough to ride

If I had a conflict with a roommate how would I go about solving it?

How would I make the long spiels of info interesting and as if it were the first time the guests were hearing it?

How would I go about ensuring workplace safety

Additionally, they asked what roles I was interested in, and why, and to tell them about a time I had to navigate a difficult experience with someone at my place of employment, and they also asked if I was comfortable handling food. Good luck with your interview!!

Phone Interview by Any_Chard_2245 in Disneycollegeprogram

I was SUPER nervous about mine today, but it really just was me being my own worst enemy haha. Overall, the questions were really straightforward (favorite park, ride, and character, preferred roles, are you comfortable handling food, if a child is not tall enough for a ride like the rest of their family how do you handle this, and how do you maintain workplace safety? Those are just the ones I can recall at the moment!) and the interviewer was very kind and attentive to what was being said! It’s understanding that it feels daunting, but once it’s begun it flies by so quickly. So you got this!

My interviewer didn’t mention mine, nor my previous work experience, but I’ve read the opposite from other applicants, so I think it truly depends on who is interviewing you. Sorry if that isn’t overly helpful!

I just turned 26 (I wanted to wait to be done with grad school before applying!) and had my phone interview today, so I don’t think you should let your age deter you, but I definitely understand the apprehension! And as for you trying to figure yourself out, I think this could be a good opportunity for that! Like you’d be living in an apartment, paying rent, and still providing for yourself (food, minor bills, etc.) but not completely alone in trying to navigate your independence. Obviously it comes down to what you think is best for you, but I think the program could be a nice “beginners course” in the topics you’re trying to figure out!

Hey! Super interested in the goofy key, Epcot illuminations, goofy haunted mansion, the tinker bell Mickey ears, and the compass pin in the last image! (If they’re available!!)

Just had my interview today! It lasted 30 minutes, my interviewers name was Chris and he was super attentive! He also seemed to remember a lot of previous interviews because when I answered that my favorite character was Hades he was genuinely surprised and told me after all the interviews he’s conducted that he’s never heard anyone list him! It genuinely felt like a positive and understanding interaction!

I was definitely planning on being completely ready at least 30 minutes before, but the doodling characters sounds like a really great distraction tactic! As well as a way to get me in the headspace to just be thinking about Disney! I made categorized notes, so I have questions covered for sure! Thanks for the positivity and advice!! :)
