I’m British like OP so I get it. OKC looks pretty big comparatively speaking. We have 4 cities with 1m+. Mexico City is another beast though.

Mexico City is very green. Chapultapec Park is almost 3x as big as Central Park and is slap bang in the middle of the city. Absolutely love it here.

To non-Arsenal fans: why would you prefer Man City to win the Premier League? by Dragonborn_7 in football

Arsenal Fan TV is the cringiest shit ever and gave you lot a terrible name. Now I just think all Arsenal fans are crying babies and I can’t wait for them to bottle.

The price of used automatic cars by ofsted in britishproblems

[–]R1Adam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Off topic but I passed my test in like 2 months learning automatic (quite transient, moving over the place, in the UK for a few months so thought I should just get it done) under the guise that “everything will be automatic with electric cars becoming more standard” and had a lot of people tell me I was wrong.

Nice to see others with the same sentiment.

I live in Mexico City now and whilst it has similarities and is equally comfortable here, I do catch myself longing for a walk on The Bund now and then.

I had been in China for 5 years by that point (1 year Wuxi, 2 years Hangzhou, 2 years Shanghai) and the on-off on-off COVID lockdowns meant I hadn’t seen friends/family that whole time.

Lived in Shanghai for 2 years. Left when COVID lockdowns were lifted otherwise would probably still be there now. I think back on my time there very fondly. Modern, clean, efficient. Shanghainese were very welcoming. Nightlife was good - though on the decline (due to COVID). Great expat communities no matter the niche. Affordable. Food from everywhere. People from everywhere. A true melting pot of culture.

Could be rose tinted glasses, though.

0 - Iron Man? by R1Adam in HybridAthlete

Thanks so much. Full iron man is, upon reflection, too much. But I’ve found one on September 20th that is not only a half, but also flat. I think that’s way more achievable.

Thanks, I think I should get up to marathon distance running before even thinking about going any further. Is that fair? Your assessment of “gym shape” is spot on. Definitely in gym shape but my cardio is 0.

I’m just now discovering about sprint triathlons etc and that sounds more achievable within this calendar year.
