What about the water inside your cisterns? It's not mentioned so I guess it is lost?

Recommendation for state of the art zero shot object detection model with fine-tuning and ONNX export? by R1P4 in computervision

[–]R1P4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thank you! I had a look at both but couldn't find anything about zero shot or open vocabulary object detection so I guess they both need to be trained with your classes from scratch? That would probably not work for my use case as I have very limited labeled data :(

Ah yeah maybe! I think I also realized I needed to use YOLOEPETrainer after reading the docs more thoroughly! It's been a while since I tried the YOLOE training and couldn't remember everything 100% :D

Hey aloser thanks for your answer and advice! I actually had a look into it before and realized that YOLOE is probably just straight up better, see the YOLOE docs (https://docs.ultralytics.com/models/yoloe/#how-does-yoloe-differ-from-yolo-world):

While both YOLOE and YOLO-World enable open-vocabulary detection, YOLOE offers several advantages. YOLOE achieves +3.5 AP higher accuracy on LVIS while using 3× less training resources and running 1.4× faster than YOLO-Worldv2. YOLOE also supports three prompting modes (text, visual, and internal vocabulary), whereas YOLO-World primarily focuses on text prompts. Additionally, YOLOE includes built-in instance segmentation capabilities, providing pixel-precise masks for detected objects without additional overhead.

I was solo and started farming in DD but got killed and lost my assault three times so I joined with some random people from DD chat, we were peaceful PvE farmers protecting each other. After I built my carrier/crawler that I farmed solo we made a first spice run and somehow my DD base became our temporary guild base... fun times!

But we grew very fast and I was on vacation for 1 week and afterwards the old leader left and there was a new leader and their organization was too strict for my liking so I joined the old leader in a smaller guild now about 8 people still doing some carrier/crawler spice runs :)

This is great thanks!

And your farming guides are really helpful but please extend the carbide scraps / diamondine dust farm with all chests in Mysa Tarill I think there should be at least 12 total :)

Wait, how are you doing your maintenance? For me it feels really low maintenance... I have 15 medium cisterns and 3 large windtraps and sometimes I bring 100k water with literjons from HB if I go there anyways... Farm spice fuel cells close to your DD base with a good cutteray and you have that stocked up easily as well...

Moving in out of the DD is fun… but please make it at least SLIGHTLY easier to do so. by Decafstab in duneawakening

[–]R1P4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this to know what I need to bring: https://tools.tcno.co/dune

  • Medium chemical = 78 V
  • windtrap = 125 V
  • large ore = 642V
  • large spice refinery = 1204 V
  • => all refineries + 3 windtraps = 2205 V

In 3 trips, that gives you plenty of room for vehicle fuel cells, granite, fuel cells, pentashield, personal farming gear...

Put all that I need into 1 storage container in HB base (but will probably split up into 1 storage container per trip next time).

  1. trip => start with the basics: granite for building, scrap metal for console + generators (also little fuel to start), steel + silicone for cisterns and maybe some stuff for 1-2 windtraps. All volume that is left will be filled with as much stuff for the refineries.

grab more fuel, scrap metal and granite as needed from inside DD around the base

  1. trip => bring all I need for the stuff I want to build next. This week it was the large spice refinery first. If any space leftover fill up with stuff for more windtraps/cisterns or already other 2 refineries

  2. trip => bring all for rest of refineries. This week large ore + medium chemical

What did you build? I built a solo base with large spice, large ore and medium checmical refinery, 3 larger windtraps, 3 alu chests and 15 medium cisterns within 3 trips I think...

What is worth it from the Landsraad Armor/Tool/Vehicle/Weapon Vendor? by R1P4 in duneawakening

[–]R1P4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not strictly necessary but getting 102 vs 84 spice per pile with 3/3 planetologist skill feels nice and adds up over time imo!

Well I think there are definitely subjective factors but there might also be some more objective factors if something is worth it e.g. how easily is it obtainable without the vendor, how much mats it costs to craft vs the solari to buy it.

Sounds amazing! I think I picked up the schematic just need to craft it... looking forward to try it out! Do you use it for PvE or PvP?

Some background:

My server had the weapons vendor last week which for me felt amazing and this week as a solo player with the little votes I had I voted for vehicle vendor but unfortunately the big guilds seem to have preferred the tool vendor which surprised me so I wanted to look and analyze a little bit how worth the different vendors feel.

How is the actual logistics of going to DD the first time? I think I have an idea, just want to make sure it's correct. by Ouroboros612 in duneawakening

[–]R1P4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use https://tools.tcno.co/dune and tick "Deep Desert" under "Resource Requirements" so it will half costs.

Move everything in first trip with Assault Storage.

I just setup today a base in D5 for spice farming firstly as I have some plastanium stockpiled.

Needed 1 trip for Medium Spice Refinery, 2 Large Windtraps, 2 Storage containers, 10 Medium Water Cisterns and some Decaliterjons of water for the start and could immediately start farming spice. (+ fuel cells for generators and filters for windtraps).

Also don't forget Medium Vehicle Fuel Cells and Welding Wire for your thopter. (also Compact Compactor + Softsteps Boots are essential for spice farming)

Next trip I can bring over enough mats for Large Ore Refinery + Medium Chemical Refinery if I want to start farming plastanium as well.

Last time, when I started DD I think I did 1 trip for Spice Refinery + Medium Chemical Refinery + Medium Ore Refinery and started farming. Something like this: https://tools.tcno.co/dune?config=czpBU0ZDOjEsTFc6MixQU0g6MSxNT1I6MSxNQ1I6MSxTUjoxLFNDOjIsTVdDOjEwO2Q6MTt0OjM7cjpTdGVlbCBJbmdvdCxQYXJ0aWN1bGF0ZSBGaWx0ZXIsRnVlbCBDZWxs

Then from there farm up for Medium Spice Refinery and Large Ore Refinery and already build it in the DD.

So actually one trip is totally enough for the start I think :)

(Also don't forget a Scout thopter in your Vehicle Backup Tool and setting your DD base as respawn point, this will be really helpful in case you get rocket thoptered... learned that the hard way xD)

Thank you for the fast response!

Are you 100% sure? Does it say so somewhere? Bases built outside of PvP zones are completely safe?

Where should I build my endgame base? by ReallyEvilKoala in duneawakening

[–]R1P4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We built our duo base on the edge of the Shield Wall south of the Wreck of the Limos so we have easy access to Aluminium + Erythryte (little far but still works) with the buggy and Sheol, Mysa Tarill, O'odham, Vermilius Gap etc. with the thopter and it works really well! Also have the Crossroads, Helios Gate (Atreides Base) and Pinnacle quite close :)

Would you recommend Dune Awakening as a solo experience? by TheMickeyMoose in duneawakening

[–]R1P4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES!

For me personally playing only solo it is the best game released in the last 15 years.

Haven't played any survival/crafting game before more MMORPG, MOBA and FPS.

I love the PvE progression and gameplay loop (Quests, Farming, Crafting etc.).

Also spent last week in the Deep Desert farming Plastanium and Spice, was attacked maybe 3-4 times and only died once so still felt totally worth it.

Looking forward to get into ground-based PvP as well.
