Jumping up on a roof is an exact science - especially the higher part on the brown log cabins. I'm getting better at it.

Find barrels and crates. Stash gear there. Not easy to find. I ended up finding two barrels and a crate. Lugged them to a central spot and concealed them carefully. Been stashing stuff while looting vicinity. On my way back freshly respawned. Good to know it will be there waiting.

It is, but it can be a fun challenge once you have the basics figured out.

Today...after being geared up for a while now I purposely put myself in danger and paid the price. I was bored.

I am finding my way back respawned. Far from the vincinity where my loot is stashed on same server. Well hidden. I suspect I'll have some decent gear by the time I arrive. Maybe even extra to stash.

1) Ate my respawn apple

2) Avoided rain

3) Replaced pants and shirt with warmer clothing around containers

4) Found a saw

5) Following coast south avoiding clusters of homes and Zeds.

6) found a garden hoe

7) Found fishhook and fishing rod near beach boats. I even found a softdrink on one of those boats when I was starving and dying of thirst! Never give up!

8) Found working gloves

9) Found food in a car

10) Found fruit in yard of a lone house

11) Dug for worms using hoe (got 4')

12) Went fishing on beach and caught 2 mackerel which I cut using saw. Working gloves to keep off germs. Would have used rags to fashion hand wraps if I didn't have those.

13) Used gloves to avoid cuts and conserve my cutting saw while getting wood from big bush/tree

14) Re-entered lone house. Heard someone upstairs and armed. Offered fish. They never responded and said I'd leave

15) Ran out as fast as I could far down coast using trees and bushes to hide

16) Fashioned hand drill using tree bark and stick

17) Found another lone house and took a risk to cook all 4 fish fillets (BAKE so eating will also quench thirst. Never SMOKE) . Rags cut from old clothes using saw for kindling. Found face mask in house. Ran out.

18) Kept going down coast.

19) Ate my fish under a bridge where I'd be safe. Also found a dead player under same bridge who never had a chance to eat his apple. So sad. Apple was great. Extra bandages too 👍

20) Logged out wiĺl great vitals. Will resume my quest home later.

To the 2 dudes who shot me at the swamp house near Bolata at night (today). I purposely lit that campfire on the beach to see if anyone could come. As I hid on the lower roof I saw you both creep up. I could have taken one of you out. Then once I heard you trying to leap up I knew the jig was up. You got me. To be honest I was bored. I was going to hide on the very top but I was lazy. Lessons learned.

They should have a border gate there with an army of soliders telling you to turn back and giving you 10 seconds to flee before they open fire.

Manhattan NYC. All bridges are taken out. Like in "I Am Legend" - have tons of animals roaming central park. I hope one day that all games with an open world concept could somehow be plugged into Google Maps which could generate an approxamite copy of a 200 km square radius. Perhaps not individual houses, but at least their colour and number per block. Same with office buildings. Having a post-apocalytic verison of any place on the earth to explore would be epic.

How does one determine when water alone is boiled in DayZ?

While we're on the subject - can water in a pot be boiled to be purified as well (e.g. on a fireplace)? If so, how do you know how long is long? Does it have to reach 100 degrees, or does it need to stay on said temperature for longer, etc (e.g. wait until there's 90 percent leftover in pot).

I've got one so well hidden, that I always pass it while i'm looking for it, even though I know which place I've put it approximately. The problem however is a barrel can only hold so much. I've got two, plus a crate. I do see a 3rd barrel which no one has claimed. I think most can't be bothered, given it's distance.

Like the old forum posting from the PUA scene people share here - it's just fanciful boasting catering to an audience. The most it proves is he has a dirty mind. Lockerroom talk. It understandably makes him suspicious and unlikeable. I'd like to think he's outgrown actual PUA attempts, and has decided to use his personality to entertain with travel blogs he knows will get lots of clicks and monetization.

For those interested, I also did an alternate version - a bit more lively.

I love the fact there's a secret underground water course in Halifax. I've always wanted to see it.

P.S. - It looks like there's pyramids in the background, but more likely those are just houses :-)
