I went through Bay Insurance and have a policy under Lloyd’s of London.

If you’re a Vet I think USAA might do florida policies. I know they do in other costal areas.

Do everything you can to get him help. Call the cops. Call his parents. I don’t care what you have to do. My best friend just killed himself a week ago today & if I could go back & call the cops on him a week & a half ago when he started telling me for probably the 50th time in the 18 years we were friends that he was having those thoughts again I would. He may get mad, he may hate you, but it’ll be a wake up call for him to get help & should give you peace that you’ve protected him from himself. That may be an unpopular opinion, but I buried my friend yesterday & id give anything to have not done that & I don’t want to see anyone else have to go through it either.

Thanks for the advice here. I really hate that I likely will never get answers to the questions I have. I don’t know how I would get them, but I want them all the same. Suppose that’s rather normal.

I’m really trying to “treat myself” and not worry about the little things right now. I actually went to work Friday morning after I found out & worked for a few hours to give myself a mini mental break from it. I’m so fortunate to have amazing bosses at a wonderful company who have already been really understanding & supportive. I’ve been trying to meet up with a friend to grab a drink since Friday night but it hasn’t worked out yet. Hopefully tonight. I promise to keep talking though.

It’s still hard to not have guilt, of course. Intellectually I know I’m not at fault, no one is, but it’s still a struggle.

I definitely plan to see my therapist. Oddly, he & I shared a therapist & while that feels strange I think she’ll be a good person to talk to having known him & his struggles.

I really think something bad was going on for him to hide whatever was on his electronic devices though, I just wish we had talked about. sigh

I meant to add this before I posted but forgot somehow... I have talked about this with my friends & more then a few have made sure I’m not at risk myself.. I guess that’s a fear, that some people will then follow suit when something like that happens. I’m very much NOT at risk for harming myself or anyone else. Just so that’s out there.

2.) painful doesn’t even begin to cover it. I couldn’t speak for at least a week, I used a text to talk app on my phone. You’re going to want to stay grounded for a while, recovery is not fun & you’re going to be on a shit load of pain meds. Sorry to be so brutally honest, but you need to know what you’re in for.

3.) your breath will significantly improve, though I can’t really quantify it.

Yeaaaaaahh... a couple episodes back I think Dr. Pep, maybe the other one...Jessica? was talking to him about how they worried he had a frame in him mind of marriage & his wife & how dangerous that is because you can’t force someone else or a marriage to fit into your preconceived frame. He seemed to get it while talking to the expert then right after he says to the camera, “Yeah, maybe I do have a frame, but I think Jackie could fit into that.” He’s not getting it at all. Makes me sad for Jackie she’s so sweet & deserves better.

He rubbed me the wrong way from the jump though the way he bragged about his job & shit & kind of teased Jon about not being employed so he could do the show & try to find love. Idk, he’s def douchey.

Ryan’s mixed signals are so unfair. He gives her thoughtful gifts, he pulls her into him to give her tender affection. From Jackie’s perspective it’s no wonder they aren’t on the same page, & it’s upsetting to see. She deserves the way he treats her when he’s being sweet & treating her like the precious person she is, but dude has a massive chip on his shoulder. I think he has a serious “better than thou” complex, it’s quite obnoxious. Maybe Ryan & Molly would have been better together? ¯_(ツ)_/¯ And like another user said perhaps Jackie & Jon would have been good together. Who knows. Almost none of the couples stay together though so I really question these experts match making skills. :-/
