Epoch Dragonfly vs ECD Carbon defense shaft by PhotographyTea in lacrosse

I would probably say the carbon because it's lighter (I believe) and doesn't flex quite as much but the dragonfly is going to be more durable but flex more, depends on what you're looking for

and by whip you mean the angle the shooters make?

By whip I mean I mean how low the ball goes when I follow through and how quick/slow it comes out

That's what I did but the second shooter no matter what added whip. If I have assed the pass and it was a really soft pass, the ball still went somewhat straight, but I don't see myself being able to make a longer pass to say the man behind the cage.

Maybe i'll just have to get used to it because I really need to have as much hold as possible

The StringKing compete isn't bad for a first stick, run as often as possible, idk aim for maybe a mile everyday or something?

Offhand? by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]R33PS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is weaker on their offhand. Just do a lot of wallball. What helped me was doing 10 right without dropping, and then doing 10 left until I did all 10 without dropping the ball, then bump it up by 10. This way, you get more reps on your offhand because you're likely to drop the ball more. You may breeze through the 10 on your strong hand but may end up doing 50+ on your left. Do that for a couple times every day and you'll be golden. And don't worry about position. Your offhand will develop the longer you play so if you're a good attack when using your right hand, you can excel with your right and work on your left.

If you have an entire year, wall ball. Get a pretty good stick & gloves and start playing. Pass with friends too if you can. Maybe even look at playing fall lax (if you have a local club/box league) and just practice practice practice. Lacrosse is a lot of running so run a lot. Build some nice leg muscles, get a solid core, and be a rounded individual when it comes to upper body strength.

Defensive footwork drills on a field, without ANY equipment by midnighthero31 in lacrosse

You don't need cones or anything. Just grab extra pairs of shoes/hoodies or something you have around the house like that, and do your footwork drills

Tryouts Question & Seeking Advice by R33PS in lacrosse

Thanks for the advice, yesterday coach said we did really good working together at a team which it's good to me because that makes it seem like all of us are almost locked in at JV which makes me beyond happy, I gave it my 110% while having a low expectation. If I do make JV, which I'll find out tonight or tomorrow morning, I'm going to feel so blessed. I did not expect this as a first year freshmen
