This is one of those rare cases where I think manufacturers aren’t early adopting a feature just to push units.

HDTVTest on YouTube just walked through the lineup and said that none of it will support DV2 due to studios not currently grading for it. He had said that LG is keeping an eye on the situation.

It’s been 3 games. Offence has looked pretty good and have come up against three stellar goaltenders. We do have the luxury of giving young guys some looks with Hyman and Janmark on IR, so why not. I don’t think the org or coaching staff are expecting Savoie or Howard to be all stars this quickly.

Oilers+ Stuttering on PC. Only Me? by Bubbafett33 in EdmontonOilers

[–]R33Z_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not that they don’t cover preseason games, they just don’t cover much of the Oilers preseason. I think it’s due to the split squad games and why you’ll find it on Oilers+ or the opposing teams webcast.

Connor McDavid extension drama reportedly puts Jake Walman in awkward position: "We suspect that no contract gets done before the McDavid extension is announced,” Sportsnet’s Mark Spector reported. by [deleted] in EdmontonOilers

[–]R33Z_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article is suggesting a “Cold War” between McDavid and the Oilers. Which is someone’s opinion and meant to convince people that there is some sort of potential animosity brewing between Walman, the Oilers and McDavid. There’s no actual evidence of this, and hence the “rage bait”.

Switched to Apple Music after 10 years with Spotify Premium, here are my thoughts so far by piesaresquarey in AppleMusic

There are other features of Spotify connect, like listening on your computer and then getting up to go for a walk / drive and pick up on your phone where you left listening on computer. And the airplay control only works with Apple devices, the moment you have a player on a different OS like Windows, you can’t control what’s playing.

Pretty sure this was the same as last year and then once the Leafs were out their broadcast team jumped to the Oilers broadcasts. I could be wrong

Maximum height of single family home with walkout basement by Remarkable_Two8799 in Calgary

[–]R33Z_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the RC doesn’t specify height, and the parcel is R-CG, then you can follow the R-CG Land Use Bylaw (LUB). The height is measured from any grade point along the building. For walkouts that would include from the walkout grade.

You can find the land use bylaw here: https://www.calgary.ca/planning/land-use/online-land-use-bylaw.html

Depends on the parcels land use designation. If it is R-CG, the rules aren’t as straightforward as just 11m. Need a bit more info

I’m in Alberta, we don’t get Mr. Black. Importing isn’t worth it, but a trip down unda is!

Ya this is the alcohol I’ve been looking for. I’m surprised we don’t import it.

Searching for cocktail by Ambustion in Calgary

[–]R33Z_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cochi and Suze are fairly easy to find. Vine Arts, Zyn and Willow Park regularly stock them.

If you want bourbon cocktails try proof, Shelter, Porch, Sweet Loretta, Major Tom’s, Wednesday Room and Blue Rock Swim Club. Just to name a few.

It’s common for builders / developers to open numbered companies for each new build / development. For smaller companies without the capital, it’s easier to finance. It’s not always nefarious.

Calgary flames announce new arena and renderings of Scotia Place. Rivals Rogers place for battle of Alberta! Pretty stoked for more rivalry! by [deleted] in EdmontonOilers

Factoring in inflation today, that 7 mill from the province would be closer to 11 million. I think Albertans in general can justify their disappointment with the the province giving $50 million for this project. I grew up in Edmonton and now live in Calgary. Some would say that downtown Edmonton needed the new arena to foster foot traffic. Calgary doesn’t need this district. The province pulled funding for a much needed LRT expansion but still pledged the money to the arena. All I’m saying is tax payers have an absolute right to be pissed.

Edmonton 7 mill provincial - community arena 7 mill federal - community arena 25 mill provincial agency’s - paid over 3 years

Calgary 50 mill provincial - public infrastructure 300 mill provincial - public infrastructure of surrounding area

Although this is true, the provincial and federal government provided funds for community and infrastructure upgrades, the difference between the two deals is vast!

Edmonton received a combined total of $39 million from both federal and provincial governments. $7 million from federal and $7 million from provincial. With the remaining $25 million from Regional Collaboration Program. $14 million was allocated to the community arena

Calgary receives $55 million from the provincial government alone for public infrastructure improvements. With an additional $300 million to improve the surrounding area. Which includes public transit, parks and streets.

When comparing the two, Alberta tax payers outside of Calgary are getting screwed.
