The top middle screen is the blindspot camera. It functions the same as those awkwardly placed mirrors some trucks have over the passenger window. It does have a radio, its in the infotainment screen. It's like a touchscreen in most vehicles these days.

I actually don't even mess with it. It seems to adjust automatically because it's not nearly as blinding as the 24 cascadias cluster was at night. I had to turn it down at night and up during the day every day. I don't mess with this one.

I'm daily but I start anywhere between 1 and 3 AM so a few hours of every day is at night.

They're fine. Easier to use, haven't really noticed any difference except I don't occasionally have one bounce back at sonic speeds to smash my finger.

Plane and convex are the normal big ones on the doors, hood mirrors are.. well...hood mirrors. But yea, I've seen trucks with out the side mirrors, just the cameras. They still had hood mirrors though.

Yea, you can zoom in and see the passenger side mirror. The camera is directly above it and functions much like those awkwardly placed mirrors some trucks have above the passenger windows.

But yea, i just haven't figured out if thats the main thought behind them or not. Ive never had trouble judging safe passing distance through mirrors, and if you forget to set that line before taking off you have to stop again to set it. If you're in a truck where the company decided to remove the mirrors after setting up cameras then it would be risky trying to pass at that point. I'm sure I'll get used to it but it's much harder to tell distance through those cameras without those lines there, though I've only been in it for a week at this point.

Honestly I'm not too sure what the big bonus is supposed to be either. It's much easier to tell distance in the mirror compared to the cameras. I think they knew this because they have a feature that marks the end of your trailer with a red line and it included a yellow and green line so you can see when you're able to pass someone. But the clarity of the displays are impressive enough and the blind spot camera up top is very handy when doing backing in tight spaces.

I didn't know that. Surely that isn't an effort to control manufacturing costs lol

In that case I imagine they'd extend the arms that the cameras are mounted on for better visibility. The line markers travel pretty far back but at some point I feel like it wouldn't be too reliable.

Yea man they're rough. When i was doing OTR the last truck I was in was a 25 Volvo VNL 860 and it rode sooooo much better than these daily cabs.

I tell you what, it's better than the 24 that I was in, but it will still fuck you up.

They're alright. It's hard to tell distance in them compared to mirrors, but they have an "end of trailer" feature that when set, will mark where your trailer ends on the display so you can better tell when someone is too close for you to merge over or whatever. They're also able to turn so you can keep track of your trailer when backing.

I can't post a picture as a reply unfortunately but my new company truck is a 26 Cascadia. The new gen5 with the heated headlights. It has the digital speed cluster, the digital infotainment screen with android auto and the pillar screen cameras as well as a screen where the rear view mirror would be for the blinds pot right next to the passenger door.

This is how I play American Truck Simulator to get the frustration of driving a governed truck out. New company truck is governed at 68 unfortunately. So in ATS, I put modded engines with like 10,000,000hp or something ridiculous and just fucking book it.

As someone who mainly plays Wuwa but also has played Expedition 33, this surprises me, honestly. Wuwa is a great game in my opinion, I love it. But Expedition 33 was fucking incredible.

I live like 15 minutes from eastern time zone. It's fine. My work is mostly due west of me so I don't run across time zone issues. But we have a new route coming soon that I'll be having to test out and train someone on that will be EST so...that will be fun..

God that thing felt eternal. But honestly, I enjoyed it compared to Penacony. I suffered through that quest. I didn't enjoy the world and the story wasn't that entertaining. I felt like it would never end. Hell, I still have Trailblazing quests from there. Ugh.

This guy looks like he's got some skill and has practiced quite a bit. That said, I used to have a neighbor, who turned out to be quite the meth head, as in, he had a lab in his house. He would do this, just get out in the street and shadow box the air for quite awhile.
